Quest Atrium
Talk about false advertising! The photos for the room I booked were alot nicer than the actual room. We had a slide door that opened half way, had no balcony and a broken hand rail. Smelly hallways, probably due to MSD clients living there (which should also be stated) chipped paint, burnt kitchen bench, sticky instruction pamphlets and the pool isn't apart of the building so don't be fooled by that either. Won't be back, and don't recommend to anyone

Kia ora Newhaven,Thank you for our stay! Had a great rest, while we could there. Now on our arrival, it was obvious that your cleaning staff had missed a few spots as we found a condom right next to my colleagues bed and the bathroom had a stench of urine that we could not get rid of. Your tenant staying below, was rude and uninviting as she would stare out her window like we did not belong there and it actually became scary.Other than that, had a mediocre stay with Waldorf. Will not be coming back, that is for sure!

regarding the manager - haven't had the chance to even stay at this place and i already feel that this is the worst place for me to ever visit ! i have stayed at multiple motels/hotels/apartments in NZ and always receive 100% customer service. apparently there was a deposit to be made which didn't show in the website booking.. also my card declined which she didn't say in the phone call all she said was you haven't made your deposit". when i asked her to repeat herself cause i couldn't hear her she raised her voice and gave me a rotten attitude. So one i didn't know what she was talking about

If you are camping then avoid this place like the plague. We have a normal size family tent and were greeted with utter amazement on check-in that the website specified 2 and 3-man tents. The on-line booking facility does not specify such restrictions - if it did then we wouldn't have booked. In the end, we were sandwiched between a tree (preventing rear-side access) and the next tent. the gap between the two tents was less than 2 Metres, with guy ropes under the fly sheets of each other's tents. The Manager at check-in said there was No Problem" but there bloody well was! This was no way to enjoy a holiday

West Fitzroy Apartments
We stayed here for a week in February 2023 in a one bedroom apartment. The place was neat, clean and pleasant. The apartment was on the smaller side, but OK for two people. After hours arrival arrangements were simple and easy to manage.Appliances all worked as expected.Location is handy, quiet enough with parks nearby, but only a short walk to the city centre. The Christchurch Hop on Hop off Tram goes right past the front door. The compendium says most rooms are equipped with an independently controlled air conditioner. Ours was not, although the in wall heater did a good job.The bed and lounge were both comfortable.Good wifi is included with both download and uploads speeds around 300 Mbps. You’ll find Netflix provided too.Parking is secure and spaces easy enough to access. Many, but not all, parking spaces are undercover.

Bay of Many Coves Resort
We had an outstanding experience here. We stayed for two nights as our honeymoon. The location is quite simply incredible. The apartments all feel very private whilst at the same time giving you expansive views of the bay. We paddled with SUPs and kayaks both mornings with the dolphins. The small occupancy and expansive grounds means the resort does not feel commercial at all. The food is very good, especially given the remote location. We thought that overall this offered reasonable value, and would love to come back one day.

Bay of Islands Holiday Apartments and Campervan Park
Stayed for 3 nights. Very convenient location close to supermarket and town. HUGE showers but have to pay $2 for a short shower which we didn’t know until after we parked and set up the behemoth van so had to go back out to get change. Only one working bbq. Very helpful site manager.

Bay of Many Coves Resort
We had such high expectations for this resort as our booking agent (Audley) had convinced us it was the place to go. Maybe it was once. It is a truly picturesque location but the resort feels worn. The room we had was ok but we expected far, far more for the price. The decor is dated, our sink was cracked, the fruit plate was old (the peach had mould on it). A ventilation fan for the kitchen seems to run until the early hours so it’s not quite as serene as we expected. The food was ok, but unremarkable. Neither my wife or I could eat the eggs for breakfast as they were bland and swimming in oil. The tasting menu was uncreative, bland, tiny portions and generally over cooked. The place feels set up to maximise customer spend, not to make guests feel really special, as the price implies (it takes 30 mins to get there by water taxi) It’s a shame because it’s an incredible location. The staff seemed indifferent to us (for example, we had to ask for cushions for the outdoor furniture and no one took the time to show us around the resort). To be fair, the weather was poor while we were here and that probably meant I focused on the resort more than I would have had the sun shone. So I’d say there are probably better places to spend your time and money. This place needs serious TLC, far more high end touches, better leadership and more investment.
