Resort hotel

A beautiful remote location, our recent visit to the restaurant was let down by the service. Our party of 10 were told there might be a bit of a wait even though we had booked but we weren’t expecting two hours before entrée came out! We had children who were starving and filled ourselves up on soda drinks and water waiting so by the time we had our main it was a struggle to finish it as we were so full of fluids! Would think a restaurant of this calibre would have their service sorted. We had to ask even for another round of drinks…our table was not attended except for one friendly staff member who tried to do his best under the stretched conditions while we watched other diners come in after us receive their meals. Restaurant was empty by the time we finished mains…over it so no dessert and left. Food was top quality when it did arrive however entire evening was let down by the wait.

Absolutely loved staying at this place, we loved the private spa with a enclosed space. That staff are lovely people and so kind and happy to fullfil any needs we had. The room was spacious and we had a fully stocked kitchenette including full cooking facilities and tea and coffee needs, they also gave us milk on arrival. Skyline is just across the road and so is Rotorua monigolf. Eat St is a 5 minute drive and so is the shopping mall.

Holly from reception has been fantastic in helping me sort out my taxi. Really good and welcoming disposition and very customer-focused approach.Jasmine from the spa has also been great! Fab facial and bath. Sad I couldn't get a massage since some masseuse were out due to COVID, on holiday (it was ANZAC week), or bereavement.Room is okay, could get better at cleanliness though. Quite dusty in some areas, lots of flies (I counted 5 at a point) but there was a fly spray available, linens also had some stains. Overall, it was a nice stay.

From the moment I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly. The lady at reception was welcoming and explained everything clearly. The room was clean and tidy with everything you need and more. The beds were even comfortable which is a rare treat when staying away from home. Personally a dip in the spa was my highlight. I would recommend IKA NUI to friends and will stay again next time I pass through. Thanks guys.

We stayed at Braeside for 2 nights, in an executive suite with spa. This was an accessible room with a kingsize and a single bed. The beds are comfortable and the room spacious, The place is very clean and the service is excellent and friendly. We couldn’t sleep because of snoring, so we asked for a space with separate bedrooms for the next night, The kind manager gave us a discount on the upgrade and was happy for us to move immediately. We had an excellent sleep on night 2. Again, here too, the beds were excellent and the place was very clean, there was plenty of space for the three of us. The motel is across the road from The gondola, in a quiet side street, you could easily walk to the gondola from there. there is also a lovely swimming pool on site at 33°C, I had a great and comfortable swim in the morning, in the middle of winter. It’s a lovely quiet setting with a picturesque stream on the boundary of the property. Highly recommended, and the price was very reasonable.

I really loved this place ! The owners are very nice, the rooms and bathrooms are simple but sufficient. The kitchen is big and has everything you need. And the location is just perfect!If you are looking for luxury, go somewhere else but it is the perfect place to go if you want a beautiful, quiete and simple place to spend a few nights.

Welcoming and pleasant check in. Room was adequate, warm and clean. Had an amazing water front view. Overall amazing experience. Would definitely recommend to others.

We enjoyed a nice lunch, dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast at Terrace Downs. The views and quality of the villa accommodation were all great. Food was excellent. Unfortunately the cleaning crew arrived and we were ushered out an hour early because they wanted to clean the room even though we had a late checkout. I don't expect that when I pay the best part of $1000 for accommodation, food and drinks in 24 hours and for that reason this was a 4 star review.

Had lunch at Resort restaurant yesterday. Facilities are run down and dated. Food choice was very lacking and on par with old Cobb & Co, nothing appeared fresh, most items deep fried. Staff quite inexperienced. Very disappointing as we expected higher quality. Would certainly not revisit or recommend.
