Awesome location, awesome outdoor bath, but expensive and the kitchen equipment and setup sucked (burnt old pan, world's smallest and most hard to get to bin, dishwasher that didn't even fit the dinner plates) and a few other small but important things (shower head holder broken)

Great place to take your family and friends...close to ski fields

This was a family trip to the Coramandel Peninsula and northern New Zealand. We were looking for a location in the country and this one was the most beautiful, interesting, and unique experience we could have asked for. This historic farm and home are amazing. The house is original to the property, but updated nicely in a very comfortable way and suited our group of nine. The nearby river was convenient for exploring and fishing. The location was close to Thames and was convenient for day trips to other adventures in the northern region. The property owner was wonderful and very responsive throughout out stay if needed. Best trip ever!

What an AMAZING PLACE! The view from the rooms and breakfast gazebo are second-to-none, beds are comfy, and Jill the host lays down a wonderful breakfast from locally-sourced food--including her own garden. AND she is a lot of fun! We hope to wander back in the future, it was a beautiful place to end this trip to New Zealand.

Rochelle is an outstanding property manager. Great fast friendly communication. Any jobs that need to be carried out are completed promptly with little to no effort on our part. We feel very lucky to have Rochelle managing our property for us. It gives us great peace of mind.

What an idyllic spot with sheep, trees, river, and a swing bridge - what's not to love? It was the perfect place to relax. The cabin was nice and comfy, I recommend this place. I'm glad I found it, we'll definitely be back.

Further to an earlier note I had posted, I went back to the Kauranga Valley again this year with Lorenza Devcich, to again look at the work she had continued to do on her family property. Its amazing wait she has been able to do with these building which hold so much history. My background is forestry and saw milling and to walk through the old family saw mill still with old documents attached to posts, tools in buckets etc etc, such a special place. The fact that the mill is quiet derelict adds more wonder to the hard work these people did to achieve their days work. The store set up I guess by Lorenza's grand parents to provide equipment and food to the gum diggers as they arrived in the Kauranga valley with the dream of going out into the forests to recover Kauri GUM"

Wonderful stay at Angie's for our family. Very comfortable. And the animals are so swee5 plus the trampoline and swing were a hit for our bous and Angie provided a high chair for our baby too!

This has to be the most unique hostel I've stayed in yet. Lovely beach theme, with a focus on the beautiful birds of this beautiful country. I encountered a wild Week while hanging my clothes to dry!! It's only a few hundred meters to the ocean, which you will likely be the only one there. In my opinion, the dining room and kitchen are the best parts of this place. It has such a quaint and home-like feeling to it. We connected with all the other guests via a nice dinner, which has an incredible view of the sunset. Also, the proprietor is incredibly kind and quite funny. Enjoyed some quality banter with him. Over all, I am looking forward to returning to this hostel. Hopefully it will be soon :)

Peter and Iris are the consumate hosts. They know everything about Rakiura, and Peter is recommended as a knowledgeable and interesting guide. The house is super comfortable, spacious and relaxing. It has everything you need for a short or long stay. I highly recommend this place for couples, groups and families.
