Self-catering accommodation

I can't speak highly enough of Mangawhai Chalets! The accommodation is beautiful, lovingly looked after by the hosts and kept spotlessly clean. The amenities are all well stocked and provisioned. The location is also excellent, just a 2 min walk from Wood St and its shops and eateries.Linda and Stewart themselves were the most wonderful hosts, who made our whole family feel incredibly welcome. We'd had a tough week the week before and they took wonderful care of us, and were tremendous with our kids - happily taking them in hand to walk around the gardens and look for Bailey, the resident cat, and admire the beautiful flowers.We left feeling like different people, and just can't wait to go back!

Haven't stay there yet, but the photo looks nice. Plus I think the boss is a bit of a hottie, so the place must be good!!!! I shall give a real rating next time after I stay there for real, so stay tuned haha!

Best cleanest room iv ever stayedThis by far is my favourite and I will be back! No pool or spa but who cares when you get a super clean super pretty comfy roomThe stuff are polite and very attendingI will be back it will be my first choice as I have stayed at a lot off hotels including the cordis. and that’s meant to be better but I’m in-love with this hotel also best location note however is paid parking but who cares reallyThank you for a great stay and can’t wait to come back. :)

7am construction directly outside my window. They’re constructing a new building next door. Told staff not to use this room anymore but noise is loud enough to hear throughout the building and outside. Do not recommend staying here.

Fabulous place to stay .2 bed 2 bathroom very generous lounge/dining room. A reasonable size patio overlooking the vines. Full kitchen facilities if you want to cook but 2 restaurants just down the Road .comfortable beds and very clean unit with a garage.

An absolute pleasure to call into this little secret in Kawakawa. Simple but really effective. Great food and staff an absolute blast. Coffee on point and well made.Well recommended

Beautiful place to stay! Stunning views from the outside bath tub while relaxing having my morning coffee. We had perfect weather for the outdoor movie on the projector with an amazing sunset Definitely coming back!

I stayed at The Old School Hut and it was very nice. The stag welcomed me at my arrival, I saw also the deer. I definitely recommend the place and also to do the loop track and the mine, the viewpoint on the valley and mountains is amazing.I wish I will be able to come back one day.

The bed was the worst bed ever. You could hear each moment on the bed. You lifted your leg to get comfortable and it would make loud noises. You could see bright light from hallway as well. The toilet was too close to the wall as well. Kitchen and location were really good. You could tell the kitchen was clean and up to date. Please update the beds!!!Also want to point out the heaters settings couldn't be changed. So you either boiled or cold

I booked our stay here through airbnb and had a very comfortable stay at this motor lodge. The host was very warm, friendly and responsive. She gave very clear directions on how to get to her lodge and even took the initiative to update us about the road closure outside her lodge. She was very understanding when we arrived later than expected too, and waited for us to check in. Truly appreciative of a lovely host!
