Great central location. Sky tower and casino right at the hotel. Walking distant to all the great shops on Queens St and surrounds. Modern clean rooms with comfy beds. The front counter staff and concierge were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. A great experience all round.

2 burgers and chips for $16, made with wholemeal bun and good amount of filling. I had chicken, hubbie had beef. Came with fries, nicely cooked and tomato sauce.Dessert - I had chocolate mud cake with chocolate mousse, vanilla ice cream, cream, chocolate sauce. Mud cake was not too rich, otherwise this would have been hard to eat, but managed to clean the plate.

They have a new lunch menu, what my friend and I had was terrible. I had the fried chicken wings. The coating was thin and tasteless and the chicken inside was extremely fatty. It came with some sort of chutney... My friend had a steak sandwich, it was terrible, soggy and cheap. The only redeeming feature is the genuinely nice person behind the bar, I'm guessing they were the owner or involved with management.

If I come back to Napier again, I’ll definitely come back to Thirsty Whale for dinner! Great atmosphere, excellent service with fantastic staff! We have a big group, the manager (I guess) proactively suggest what’s the best and most suitable for us. Love their exceptional service!!! The food were amazing with very reasonable price! I can’t find anything to challenge this restaurant, it becomes the top in my favorite restaurant now!
