Lochmara Lodge
Just Spent two amazing nights here with the family. Just magical. Adventurous walks through the property with little hidden jems round every corner. The best glow worms we've seen apart from the waitomo caves. Free kayaks, The underwater observatory tour was great and the food was delicious. It was a bit too rough to take the family back across to picton on our small boat due to the high winds from Gabriel. So the staff kindly made an unscheduled trip across in the ferry so they could get back safely while I followed in the boat. Thanks for a great stay and looking after us.

Booked the wrong day for our day trip by accident, but didn't realize until we were standing in the office for check-in. The folks in the office were amazing and moved our booking to accommodate us that day without batting an eye. We had an amazing time in the underwater observatory, a relaxing bath overlooking the ocean, and a nice lunch by the beach. There are so many trails to explore, hammocks to nap in, and extra activities to participate in. As a bonus, you get a mini cruise through the Queen Charlotte Sound. Would definitely recommend a trip out to Lochmara if you have a day or two in Picton.

Absolutely fantastic! I'm sure Lochmara Lodge is gorgeous in summer, but even in late autumn/winter, it's an amazing spot. The staff could not have been more accommodating, the activities to do on site are really engaging (and again made even more interesting by the staff) and the location itself is gorgeous. We will definitely be back!

Our little group stayed for 3 nights for a this year's milestone 40ths and 5th birthdays and it was amazing. The rooms were renovated and the beds super comfyAll the staff were friendly and helpfulWe loved exploring all the parts of the lodge outdoor areas. The quiet times in the morning and evening when the day visitors had gone home were really niceThe walk to the lookout was also worth the slog.We will definitely be back to explore more !!

Amazing! We stayed at Lochmara Lodge a couple of weeks ago at the start of winter and it was faultless. A wonderful escape for a couple of days, all the staff we encountered were so attentive, friendly and enthusiastic about the activities they offered. There is so much to do we struggled to fit it all in! The food at Lochmara café and restaurant was also fantastic, a great selection for vegetarians. This is a really special spot.We look forward to returning, thanks for a wonderful stay.

A really lovely place to spend some time exploring. The boat taxi is a great fun start and the only way to get there. We had 2 night's here. Lovely room with modern facilities and a balcony overlooking the bay.. Plenty to do during the day with underwater observatory, feeding the birds and animals, also kayaks to explore the bay. The land is very steep but great to climb up the various paths. Access at the top of the hill to the Queen Charlotte Track.

We enjoyed a lazy lunch at the restaurant after kayaking into the bay. A beautiful relaxing spot! We had the best hot chips we've ever had! Amazing lunch and lovely service. Thank you!
