More worried about people signing in than how’s their tenants are doing!

Cons:The water from the taps tastes like the rain water you get from the mountain huts, or worse. The mattresses sink in the middle.Flies all over the wall in bathrooms.Hot water tank is probably a little too small to accomodate for everyone as I had to have a cold shower.Pros:The atmosphere is pretty chill. The leisure lounge is a nice big space to make some noise.Location is pretty good and far away from any noise.Pillows were great.

I stayed 2 nights in a dorm. This was a form with a lot of space, but there was another room full with beds and no windows, so it depends on the room. A beautiful surrounding but I could not find the eco part, no recycling or anything else.

Was hoping to cancel my tent spot as I fell ill although I understand I was under the 7 day cancellation period but it was a tent for heavens sake. If they had bothered to reply I wouldnt be writing this but they didn't so I felt my money was taken from me. Sort out your customer service or no one will want to stay at your place

We stayed October 2022To start this isn’t a hostel or a lodge, it’s a campground with some cabins essentially. For the positives: staff were lovely and the location is great and the kitchen/toilets were adequateNegatives:Wifi doesn’t reach outside the house and is limited per day. This place advertises as eco but there’s no recycling at all.Long term guests created an uncomfortable environment. In our room was a man who did nothing but smoke and stare at us. We took every opportunity to not be in there.I slept in my car three out of four nights due to feeling uncomfortable in our room due to smell and excessive snoring.I wouldn’t recommend this place for solo travellers, male or female.I’m giving it two stars as the first night we spent there we were alone in our dorm and felt comfortable as well as the positives above.

Do not go there! They definetly did not change the bedsheats! Smelled like they whash it one a year! A lot of homeless people live there... it brings a different mood to the place.. definetly not a backpackermood... run dow place... stockbed without ladder.. had to climb up and down... stockbeds were without any protection of falling down... when it was raining water was coming in to the toilet shed... shed was open so it was filled with leafes and other rubbish... the list could go on for a long time but i will stop nowJust do not go there!

Please don’t stay here. It cost more than $70 for two people in a TENT and the facilities were awful. The water tastes like it shouldn’t be drinkable, the facilities are unclean, and they do nothing to keep noise limited as a cabin with long-term campers played music and drank until 4am the night I stayed. Take your business elsewhere, with the kind of money this place costs, you can definitely find somewhere nicer in the area.

Regardless of all these other reviews, the experience is what you make of it. I honestly felt pretty shaky at the start but overtime you start to realise everyone here is a family and look out for each other. Am glad to be apart of it, thank you EELP.

Overall very disappointing. Would NOT recommend unless you are a smoker and know to expect a dilapidated and run down accommodation.Everyone at the camp ground seemed to be a smoker. Upon arrival there were people smoking on the balcony by reception, with all the windows and door open so fresh smoke flowed into the joint reception/kitchen/lounge area. Yum my lungs loved this (not).Unfortunately our stay turned even more sour upon entering the building our room was located. We were in a double room in a building with 5 other double rooms, with many occupied by long-term residents. The building stank of cigarette smoke, my partner and I both saw a long-term visitor in the back smoking a cigarette while in his room. This was flowing straight into the hallway and into our own room. Even upon opening the window, smoke then flowed from outside as it appeared everyone at the ground was a smoker. Despite signs saying the accommodation was smoker free, this was clearly not true.We immediately decided to leave due to both having asthma and not being comfortable in this accommodation. The owner also claimed in an email that there are 'only 2 locations to smoke' 'away from rooms' which was clearly not true.Staff were super unhelpful and very defensive, claiming they do not condone smoking. Which was completely BS based on the mustiness of the accommodation and cigarette odour which was clearly from long-term exposure to smokers. The owner then makes claims about their 'cancellations policy' which was not advertised anywhere on their site. They also put it on us for not choosing accommodation that was what we expected, but given it had been illegal to smoke inside in New Zealand for almost 20 years, they clearly don't understand the LAW!!Read the other reviews as well. Other people have also stated people smoke inside rooms and is not at all addressed by the staff.
