they were almost closing when we arrived but we're happy to take us in had some sandwiches and hot chocos delish they were kind enough to give us a savoury brioche to take away will definitely come and visit again when in the area

If you are coming here for products that is completely fine because they have a huge variety of pretty cool things. However, stay away from the cafe. They serve average food on paper plates with disposable cutlery. Really poor service and no table numbers so waitresses get confused frequently.

Went to Pickle and Pie at 11: 45 on a Friday during Matariki (public holiday), despite being relatively busy service was fast and attentive ordered a iced latte and the pizza scroll as seen in image unfortunately the scroll was a disappointment that lacked flavour and was greasy, the coffee was very weak, barely any bitterness, I suspect that they use a single shot as standard although don’t know why, atmosphere is quite nice and helps to lift this cafe up to 4 stars in my opinion although I would argue 3 stars is satisfactory as well, I also ordered a takeaway peach crumble which I haven’t eaten yet but based on previous experiences, their slices seem quite delicious overall decent cosy cafe for a good price, can’t comment on menu food however as haven’t tried

Consistently good. Great coffee, love the coconut sugar. Chorizo Sausage Roll, Cardamom Morning Bun and Hazelnut Croissants are our go to.

Easily the best Biltong we've had in a long time. Those Droewors are spectacular!

Wild Pear Kitchen is more than a plant-based cafe - it has spontaneously created a community of people seeking food that is fresh and alive.The New Plymouth cafe has tasty soups (the Thai pumpkin is the best I’ve ever tasted), a medley of fresh and colourful salads and delicious baked dishes (always changing) for vegans, vegetarians and people seeking healthy food options.The welcoming staff make you feel like you’ve come home for breakfast, lunch or just popped in for a coffee, hot chocolate or smoothie. For a treat, try a vegan donut, lamington or cheesecake - they are divine. This is easily my favourite cafe in Taranaki and in Aotearoa (New Zealand), not that I’ve been everywhere.

The Farm House is nicely pointed on the way to the coast. Nice selection of glass cabinet eats and treats however nothing today for the GF eaters unfortunately. There’s a small set of shelves with-in with various goods and a tall fridge with jars of yum’s and drinks ! Great place to chill and to sip away and plenty of possibilities when seating yourself. Recommend you give it a go.

We went early because we observed that it can get quite crowded after 10am and would be hard to get a parking. I like their large selection of food in the cabinet. The Cornish pasties was average, a bit too salty, the avocado on toast and smoke salmon Benedict was decent, coffee is very good, fast delivery of food from kitchen, prompt table clearance. They do have a big issue with flies, half the indoor area is full of flies, quite unacceptable for a cafe. We might return for takeaway but definitely won’t be dining in.

i've had their plain and hazlenut croissants a few times, and i think i'll try other pastries in time. No impact to taste, but note that if you like your croissants heated, they will use a sandwich press, which will result in a flattened croissant.
