Paradise! wish we had more time stayed in Rua for 3 days and it was amazing, from the location on how it's easily accessible to nice restaurants to nice tourists spots a quick drive to the main city too. The hospitality of the hosts are beyond impeccable Colleen and her husband were just so warm, loving and caring. We felt very secured and comfortable. They were so warm and really such a pleasure to be hosted by them. A continental style breakfast is also available and yum yum yum simple yet made with love and it was delicious I would chose it against a luxury breakfast with closed eyes the homemade plum jam is a must. Our room was amazing we booked the suite room so spacious we are graced with two balcony that showered us with such an amazing view from sunrise to sunset. Rua is surrounded by such lovely animals too that they rescue we had an opportunity to feed all of them such a nice escape from the life in the city and I can't wait to go back again.

Service was fantastic, hospitality over an above and the rooms exceptional and of a very high standard. The grounds were supreme. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to have a relaxing and surreal experience of the far north. Thank you so much for looking after our wedding party and mum so well. A++++++

Hi team. I didn't get a chance to stay at the property but had an odd experience that I am so greatful for. I booked 2 rooms recently through booking.com but found out it was on a wrong location. It was non refundable if cancelled or if something happened in between. I reached out to the owners of Alhambra Oaks and they graciously and considerately understood my circumstances. You guys made my day. Thank you so much. Definitely going to choose Alhambra Oaks if in Dunedin and will tell friends and family. I know the team is honest with their business and looks after their clients over and beyond.

Tracy runs this bed and breakfast efficiently and leaves you with a beautiful room. Rooms are impeccable and beautifully designed and decorated. From Kiwi House you can walk up to Mudbricks vineyards, Oneroa village for some shopping and restaurants. It is quiet an cozy and the breakfast is superb. Real food for real people. And this all happens in the living room area where you literally feel at home. We only stayed one night but for a next time I would certainly consider 3-5 days.

Me and my wife Roberta just came back to Italy from New Zealand where we spent our honeymoon with the chance to stay for 1 night on our way in this truly beautiful lodge ! The place was clean, comfortable and elegant with a very peaceful surrounding and our hosts Libby and Geoff provided us with everything we needed and gave us lots of precious and insightful information about places to see and visit nearby and in New Zealand in general... They've been extremely kind to us and we can't thank them enough for that... Highly reccomended for anyone who wants to spend a wonderful time in a truly unique place... We truly hope to come back one day !

My partner took me here for my birthday as a surprise. Hosts Andrew and Penny went well beyond any expectations. Andrews culinary skills was amazing, the gardens presented with a guided walk by Penny are exceptional. The bird life and cats and dogs was just wonderful. Such a wonderful stay would definatley stay again to enjoy gardens and Andrew and Penny's company, would definatley recommend staying here
