I really love Mysore Yoga Wellington.Cameron Stewart who is a teacher and the owner is kind, gentle and also powerful and a high-spiritual person, who taught Ashtanga Yoga in Japan for 8 years and spread it to Japanese people.He also taught Buddha’s teachings and helped people’s awakening through teaching Yoga and his lectures.Many Japanese people who were inspired by him respect him still now. They still continue participating the Yoga communities which he created in many areas in Japan.The place of Mysore Yoga Wellington is located on the first basement level in Wellington Club, on the Terrace street. It’s a very nice place in the beautiful city in Wellington.The atmosphere is very peaceful, feels like healings, so we can connect with ourselves naturally.The way of his teaching is attentive, not forcing but powerful, so I became to be able to make it lead by his instruction with deep breathings.After the classes, my mind became clear, felt fresh, bright and healthy.To be healthy, stay young, awakening, feel peaceful,even for the transformation of our lives,I highly recommend Mysore Yoga Wellington.

I'm a complete beginner to this practice and joined Stewart's classes on a month trial period when I moved to Wellington; it was a wonderful introduction to Ashtanga. Stewart's approach is warm, encouraging and personalised to your own ability. I am really enjoying the classes and feel that the practice is something that will help me balance many aspects of my life. I can't recommend it enough, thank you! :)

I attended Mysore class of Stewart for 3 weeks during my stay in Wellington. It was such a pleasant experience. Stewart is a very dedicated teacher and had given me so many great advices and support for my practice. I feel like I have improved so much in such a short three weeks, and with his advice I could improve further with self practice at home. Mysore Yoga Wellington offers a nice atmosphere for yoga practice, I immediately got drawn into practice mode once I step in. I would love to come back and practice with Stewart again whenever I have the chance and I recommend this great place to everyone who is interested in yoga.Thanks Stewart for the wonderful experience!

I would like to take the time to recommend Mysore Yoga without reservation.I joined a few months ago as a complete beginner to Yoga. My usual activities will be high impact sports like snowboarding or powerlifting and a physical job have gradually taken a toll on the body and I was starting to experience regular injuries. Not knowing much about Yoga, I decided to try something I knew must be good for the body" but never made time for.Ashtanga is different to a "led" yoga class where a class runs through poses together. In this style students start and finish at their own time and their own pace and are given poses to work on depending on their ability. Your own practice is unique to you and somehow Stewart manages to expertly keep track of many students simultaneously and give thoughtful attention to each.Practice is always challenging and therapeutic at the same time and in a relatively short space of time I've noticed both physically and mentally more strength and balance. It's a fantastic way to start the day.The facility itself is convenient - the best of both worlds

If you’re new to Ashtanga, Stewart will give you careful one-on-one guidance or, if you’re an experienced yogi / yogini he’ll help you to deepen and extend your practice. Stewart is a skilled and dedicated teacher in the Mysore tradition; no shortcuts or fancy new postures, just yoga. Also - good showers :0

Probably Wellington's best kept yoga secret. Stewart is a gifted, dedicated and patient teacher who leads you through the Ashtanga series at a pace that reflects the progress and requirements of each individual. I was new to the Mysore style but with Stewart's guidance have found it to be a great way to more deeply understand and progress my own yoga and to start to incorporate pranayama into my practice. Stewart provides a safe learning environment to do this in a cosy space right in the heart of Wellington. Highly recommended.

Tucked away beneath the Wellington Club, Stewart has created a wonderful haven in the heart of the city for learning Ashtanga yoga in the traditional Mysore style. The space is what it should be: simple and functional with no unnecessary distractions. But with cosy touches such as soft lighting, incense and Indian classical music (along with a lovely heat), I feel far removed from the busy city and my hectic life. It is a safe, respectful and encouraging environment. I came in as a complete beginner 4-5 months ago and while challenging, the practice has truly transformed my life (which may sound cheesy but is completely true). Stewart is an excellent teacher both patient and intuitive, whilst firm and supportive, he understands exactly what his students need and when they are ready to move on (he has a great memory for each of his students' particular quirks and it is amazing how he is able to attend to everyone individually during a session). By committing to a regular practice, under such expert guidance, I’m beginning to get better acquainted with my mind and body…and discovering discipline! Thank you, Stewart.

Mysore Yoga Wellington is a wonderful place. I leave my practice feeling energised, centred and ready to face my day every time. I am improving week by week and Stewart has the tremendous ability of knowing just when to progress you. His wonderfully calming nature resonates through the simple, rustic practice space which has created a dedicated tribe of yogi’s who are looking to enrich their lives through the practice of Ashtanga yoga. A 5* experience that allows you to delve into the restorative yet powerful Ashtanga practice taught in its traditional format by an extremely knowledgeable and excellent teacher.

Stewart is a fantastic experienced Ashtanga yoga teacher who assisted me with my intermediate practice. Stewart is very attentive to his students and he emphasises practicing safely at all levels. He supports students to have a mindful practice and listen to their own bodies. The yoga space is conveniently located on The Terrace, in the bustling business area of Wellington CBD. Stewart has made the place welcoming and cosy with soft lighting and infrared heaters. There are piping hot showers with great water pressure for after your practice. I highly recommend this yoga studio.

Yoga practices at Mysore Yoga Wellington is so far the best remedy that helps me to adapt to lots of differences here in Wellington and more importantly helps me to find joy and satisfaction from within. Stewart and all other teachers are very caring and supportive. Stewart taught me not to worry too much about yoga levels or yoga poses that I make; but just relax, feel the sensation and enjoy the breathing and movements. And this really works for me as it works for so many other people who have practiced for years. I now feel much more joyful and balanced thanks to frequent practices. Big thanks to Stewart, Ari, Cecilia and highly recommended to everybody.
