Needlework shop

Fantastic little fabric shop tucked away in the heart of Auckland. (You need to head down Queen Arcade to get to it.) From yarn, to wool, thread to prints, this shop has it all. There are kits and patterns, most things to get started with or to complete that special hand made present. Staff are friendly and helpful. This place is easily accessible on your lunch break.

Browns Bay Wool Shop needs to get its staff to be polite otherwise their will be a lot of people never coming back. Today at 10.30ish I tried to take a photo of a dog in a jacket to send to a friend who had one and was basically told to get out of the shop and not take photos. I could of taken in from the road through the window but being polite decided to go in and take it and was told in no uncertain terms no deal.... she was the rudest cow to have in any business and if you are wanting to sell the business she certainly isnt the person to be behind the counter was utterly disgusted with her and will be telling a lot of people not to go into this shop ever again......so sad really as other ladies have been amazing and mending a lot of my jerseys for me.

I used to live in Birkenhead, and bought a lot of needle work from you, I have a taperstry that has been sitting in the frame uinfinished for over 26yrs as I ran out of blacxk taperstry cotton, and have never been able to find anywhere to buy, until recently I thought of googling your shop and I was delighted to find you still in business after so many years, not an easy thing to achieve for a small business. I will be paying you a visit in the very near future

In February my husband and I were in Whitianga on holiday and stumbled across this store . I was astounded at the Variety and quality that Robyn stocks and also the beautiful store . For a crafter it is absolute heaven . In the last 2 weeks I have made two online purchases and I must say it is like Christmas when the parcel arrives with everything beautifully wrapped . I cant say enough about the service I received from Robyn and her team , It is second to none !

The owner's attitude quite suddenly changed when she served me. She was all friendly and helpful when she was helping the other customer, then showed me a stone cold face and gave me a just pay and leave" vibe. Wonder if it is a racial thing or you guys don't want to welcome new customers at all."

Tracey! You are Extremely rude!! Never experienced this kinda customer service before! You need to work on your phone call communication skills before opening a business!! At least introduce yourself and what business you are from, and never ever say “bye” and hang up, on your customer first before they fully understand what you are talking about! And never ever cancel your customer’s order before they ask you to do so! Remember you are in New Zealand follow the kiwi way not the American/Canadian way. Will definitely NOT recommend this business at all!

I’m new to knitting. I have found the staff so helpful & patient even offering to help me pick up all those lost stitches. Lovely selection of yarns. How lucky to have this store so close. Thanks NZ Fabric and Yarns
