Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Relaxed atmosphere with great facilities and staff. Rental, activities, kitchen and the crowd it gathers all perfect. Great location on estuary and easy to get to surf beach. Rooms (we stayed in an 8) clean and very comfortable with great courtyard area and hot tub. Kitchen well prepped. Staff all friendly and healthy and provide daily update of best activities. Will definitely try stay again.

My partner and I spent our first night in a private room. Upon arrival, the guy helping us mentioned he was just finishing the room up, showed us to it and quickly jumped in to give it a quick vacuum, and left us to it. It was quite obvious he hadn’t started vacuuming beforehand as there was loads of hair on the one side of the floor which was disgusting. We looked past it as we are pretty easy going, but we definitely would’ve preferred if he was just honest and said it wasn’t quite ready rather than half a**ing a vacuum. We spent the next few nights in a 3 share which was surprisingly much cozier than the private room. The lounge areas were great, kitchen was very clean and well equipped which was nice. The hot tub was nice but wasn’t the cleanest. When leaving, we asked for proof of address as setting up bank in NZ has been a nightmare. The guy at the front desk said forsure, just email and we’ll get it to you guys. After a week of back and fourth emailing we were told “no, it’s only for guests who are staying here.” We know they don’t have to do that for us at all, but maybe don’t say you can help us in the first place then! Overall a pretty neutral experience, I would stay again if I had to, if you’re in Raglan I’m sure you’ll find it fine!

I've stayed here many times over the years. Love the location, practically on the Harbour and just a few minutes walk to the main cafes & shops. Very homely place to stay, with a lounge that is like being at someone's place rather than a hostel. Always a good feeling here, with friendly staff & fellow occupants.

Friendly and comfortable, with a great location - short stroll to town, and very close to the harbour. Rooms were warm, beds comfy. Bathrooms clean and tidy. Only downside was the lack of consideration by some other guests with vaping etc inside the lounge (when it was clearly labelled as prohibited), which it would've been helpful if the staff had maybe kept an eye on this.

My one-night stay was superb, being in proximity to the beach and park.

We were in room number 7 for two nights. The room was equipped with a comfortable double bed, only one bed-table, a small mirror, a rubbish bin, a heater, four sockets and two coat-hooks. You are able to close the curtains for more privacy, however one side the curtains are falling off a little bit (not a big problem, but could easily be fixed). The was an extra blanket, but it was just laying on the floor in the middle of the room.The bathrooms are shared and were clean. Sauna is out of order at the moment (30th April) but there is a hot tub, a shared kitchen, communal room and a lot of hammocks. We loved that there was filtered water in the kitchen! Staff is really friendly and it’s easy to get to know new people here - good community.

One of the nicer hostels I've encountered so far worldwide. Really cozy, clean, super nice kitchen you'd actually want to cook in, very relaxed people and vibes, rooms very friendly and lots of good spaces to hang out. You can meet and hang out with other people or find a quiet spot to read a book, all up to you.
