A powerful place to sit and feel all the emotions. A wall decorated with names of all those lost.A beautiful and peaceful tribute, often adorned with photos and flowers.

This is a touching tribute to the victims of the Earthquake in Christchurch. Each name is engraved on the wall in English and their name in their native language. Letters can be found about a son or loved one who died. Many were young with a life cut short.

Emotive and highly informative experience that highlighted the precarious nature of life on a major geological fault line. The strength of the community response was heart-warming.

Oi Manawa : Christchurch earthquake memorial is a deserving architecture along the banks of the Avon river. In honour of those lost during the quake, the curved marble wall has their names carved into it. Serene, contemplative, sorrowful in its beauty. This walk along the Avon won't take much of your time, but will remain quite timeless in your mind.

Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial
Such a peaceful and relaxing place to remember and reflect on lives lost, power of nature to damage, alter and restore, as well as the resilience and determination to overcome adversity and rebuild lives, infrastructure and buildings.
