Reasonably priced for top tier rental car agency, very helpful staff.

These people were the best when it came to my first car rental! The staff is the kindest ever and I had no problems renting a comfortable and safe vehicle. I'll definitely choose them again when I return to Rotorua.

I highly recommend Budget Car rental in Rotorua City. Not only were they easy to deal with, they are all very honest and extremely helpful bunch. Kudos to Robert and Natalia for making sure that I received my lost camera:) Their actions were prompt and they made sure I was taken care of even if it was after 2 days of renting their car. We booked a Category W car through our agent a month in advance. When we arrived at the airport to get the car we were told that the car isn't available and were forced to take a Category F car. We were cheated by the company, and the staff were unwilling to help us. We are told now that we can't change the car because of the contract and because we took the Category F car today. But it can't be expected of us to wait there for an undisclosed amount of time, hoping the car we booked would show up. As if been blatantly lied to, by the company and its employees wasn’t enough. We were given a car that has been driven for almost 75,000-80,000 km already. The car feels like a truck to drive, and barely fits all of our luggage, of which we had informed the company earlier itself. We are extremely dissatisfied by ‘Budget Car Rentals’. We will definitely take this forward and recommend people not to work with this company.

Got a puncture (from a screw!) on our original hire car from Auckland, so having changed the wheel drove to this office to find out what to do about the flat tyre, they were brilliant, got a replacement bigger car within an hour no problems whatsoever. Staff very friendly and helpful.
