Golden Sands Horse And Wagon Tours

Thank you Sophie for such a fabulous time. Highly recommend for all ages. It is something very different than any other thing to do here on the south island. Sophie, Pearl and the two horses take you on a 2.5 hour wagon ride on an unspoiled beach learning about the area and the early pioneers. You hop off for a bit to see if you are lucky enough to find any of the green stone found in this area and then you make some damp bread just as the pioneers did by a campfire in the sand accompanied by jam and coffee ot tea before heading back.

Just simply the best experience we have done. Forget helicopter rides and jet boats this is the real thing. Horse and cart cantering along an endless unspoiled beach. Cook and eat your own bread, tea from the Billy can and bring your own beer!

We had a lovely morning down on the beach with our host Sophie together with Duke Jasper and Pearl. Cooking damper over the fire was fun and it went down well with the jam. Sophie was a great source of information on the west coast and this was a great way to enjoy a relaxing day. We were very excited to see a white heron.

We had a great afternoon on the beach riding with Sophie in her horse and wagon. Sophie was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. We cooked damper on the beach over a fire and had a lovely cup of Billy tea and searched for green jade in the rocks. Sophie's beautiful horse Duke was so patient and friendly and knew his job well. Her lovely dog, Pearl is so friendly and energetic running along with us on the beach. This is a great experience, we loved it.

Literally the best activity to do in west of the south island. This is a family friendly, safe and beautiful horse ride.Sophie is a knowledgeable and friendly guide. On the way she introduce the green stone hunt, she also prepared a fire pit with homemade Kiwi damper bread and tea for us.The whole experience is beyond exceptionally well.Well done!!

Amazing experience and great adventure for all, but particularly for families with small children. We enjoyed the ride, the view and the campfire. Sophie was very very nice, helpfull and explained a lot about the region.

Don't miss out this must-do fun! This horse wagon riding on beach is simply the best activity for families near Greymouth on West Coast of NZ! We had a better-than-expected perfect afternoon beach riding with Sophie in her horse wagon. The powerful horse, Duke, can run fast with a wagon loaded 5 people! Sophie provided very informative knowledge and humurous stories about the area and its history, made the riding even more fascinating. We made damper bread on the beach over an open fire and had a lovely cup of tea. We did jade hunting on the beach. We enjoyed interacting with Sophie's friendly beautiful horses and her lovely dog Pearl. The experience was so unique and happy, and we really loved it. Thank you, Sophie!

We had a lovely 2.5 hours with Sophie, her 2 beautiful horses & dog Pearl.Sophie is a wealth of information about the area she takes her tours on.The tour is very picturesque & its lovely feeling the sea breeze in your hair.The highlight of the tour for me was making damper over the camp fire on the beach.Hope to see you again soon Sophie
