Recently completed a quick 1200km trip around the North Island. Highly recommend Randal and his company, excellent communication and route advice prior to the trip, the bike's were great and didn't miss a beat the entire trip. We will definitely be back.

My 2023 experience with Randal at Auckland Motorbike Hire was very positive. It started with valuable route advice in our early planning and later with help to cope with Cyclone Gabrielle damage.Maraetai is a lovely spot to start and finish a tour and was made easy by Randal arranging collection and drop-off either end of a two week hire. Excellent Airbnb accommodation next door also made Maraetai convenient. A great Indian restaurant a few doors away was icing on the cake!My Moto Guzzi V85 presented well in terms of tyres, luggage and general condition. It was an unrushed handover during which Randal impressed as a great ambassador for motorcycle tourism. Would do it all again!

Had a fantastic trip touring the South Island of NZ on our Suzuki SV650. Wonderful country with so much to offer, and no better way of seeing it than on a bike!The support during the booking process from Kerilee and drop off with Bjorn at NZ Motorbikes was first class. Being a start up, the bikes and gear are new and of excellent quality, and I’d also found NZ Motorbikes to be more reasonably priced than the competitors I had enquired with.Look forward to booking the next trip on the GS1200!

When I was a boy growing up in Iowa there was a small local sporting goods store whose posted slogan was, “In Business for Fun”. That is the feeling I got from Te Waipounamu Motorcycle Tours Ltd: completely professional, but in business for the fun of motorcycling. John Rains is the proprietor of Te Waipounamu Motorcycle Tours.The bikes were well sorted out. The price negotiated for our extended rental was fair to both of us. In addition, both of us really appreciated John’s willingness to mount a Ram ball on my bike for a GPS and the throttle lock we brought with us, on my friend’s bike.Te Waipounamu Motorcycle Tours’ courtesy was further extended to us when they agreed to store our flight luggage and clothing during our 25 day tour of discovery, which did in no small part, make it all possible.John took the time at the end of our trip to sit down and talk with my friend and me at the end of tour supper, which was a welcome surprise and very much appreciated. Although John wasn’t seated near my passenger, she commented to us that John had been very kind and gracious to her. She appreciated the personal attention and courtesy. Awesome experience with Randal and his bikes. We rode in September 2019 just before Covid hit. Spent two weeks riding the north and south islands. Can’t wait to come back. Looks like Randal now has a bigger and newer fleet to choose from.Thanks Randal!

Bikes on Barrier is where it is at when it comes to scooter/moped rentals on the island. AJ who is the owner and operator is a legend and will bend over backwards to make sure you have an awesome time. He makes the entire process stress free and will make sure you don’t need to worry about anything. The scooters are new and in mint condition. The helmets are sturdy and look cool (I know this shouldn’t be a prerequisite but who doesn’t want to look skuxs on holiday). Give AJ a bell for sure! Booking is a good idea but AJ will do whatever he can to make it work on the day ☺️

10/10 recommend hiring for the full day!!!! Great pricing. What a fun day, and amazing way to check out the island! Away on a girl's trip and we had an absolute blast cruising the island. AJ was awesome, super friendly and accomodating. #scootscoot

We are from Canada, and were fortunate to be able to spend an amazing 2 weeks touring the north and south islands on a Yamaha Super Tenere rented from Randal. The bike was in great shape, very well equipped with everything needed, and did not let us down. Randal was also extremely helpful with planning routes, and suggestions of what not to miss. We were not disappointed. We highly recommend renting from Randal, definitely 5 stars from the beginning to the end of our trip.
