Driving from Nelson to Hanmer Springs this wasn't on the list of things to do but we are glad we pulled in and walked the alpine walking track (about 10-15mins round trip) its a great way stop to stretch the legs and with amazing views along the well maintained pathways. If traveling through Lewis Pass this is worth a stop to check out.

Nice stop over to relax your feed or even for an overnight stay in the camper. Be aware of snadflies though, cause they occupy the toilet;)

Stunning mountain views.Start of St. James Walkway. I wouldn't leave a vehicle unattended here as many have been broken into.Boyle Lodge will run you up to this car park in your own vehicle for a small fee. Your vehicle is then waiting for you at the Boyle Village when you finish the St. James Walkway.

Such a pretty place - really nice walk around the lake with opportunities to just and contemplate/ enjoy the scenery. Great place to visit
