My first time ever staying at a bacpackers. Tracy introduced herself and came around the desk the minute my friend and I checked in. She introduced us to the other guests by name and called us by our names for the rest of the stay. Everything was clean and the hours that the bathroom, kitchen, and common area were closed for cleaning was clearly posted. This is definitely not a place to miss if you are looking at staying in National Park area.

Good location on the Tongariro Crossing shuttle schedule. The owner of this accommodation owns and runs the shuttles out. They have a good deal with accommodation and shuttle service because of this. Nice common rooms and the room itself was clean. Most of all the owners were both lovely people, a pleasure to meet and talk to.I would definitely book here for the peak seasons especially if you want to avoid the backpacker style hostels around the National Park.

Only stayed here for one night as it was a quick stopover spot but would 100% recommend. Tracey was very welcoming & showed us around, even recommended some eats down the street at CamoKai (really tasty food!). The bed was very cozy & comfy & other guests were lovely as well. Will definitely book again if we make the trip again!

She is strict but for a good reason. The place is sooooooo warm and tidy EVERY DAY. Feels so like home and thus for the strictness. That’s for the home. The host, Tracey and Thomas in person are one of the bestest people I’ve met during my time here in New Zealand.Thank you for being the nicest people ever!Highly recommended for RAL staff that wanna stay for next winter season (pls save a bed for me) and also future guests!Met so many returnees guests during my stay here and they are lovey as well.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in anywhere I've traveled. Tracey and Thomas are so kind and welcoming, genuinely interested in their guests and their experience, very caring and it shows in every aspect of the place. Great kitchen, super clean, attracts friendly people. Will be back to Tongariro and would not stay anywhere else. Thanks for everything!!

What a beautiful couple. So welcoming. Felt like being invited into their home more than staying in a lodge. Home, away from home. Will definitely remember this place & the people that made it amazing.

We came to this hostel looking to do parts for the Tongariro Crossing which unfortunately we couldn’t do due to the weather, but the hostel was amazing. It felt really homely and the couple that ran the place were so welcoming which was completely different from any other hostel we have experienced before which was a delightful change. The only thing I can say is that unless you are heading down to wellington or skiing or doing the Tongariro Crossing as we were planning to there isn’t a lot in the town. But lovely place would 100% recommend!
