A successful event is about making connections. In New Zealand’s creative, culinary and policy capital no one does it better than Venues Wellington.

Clarence St Theatre
This is a great theatre in our community. They are able to accomodate over 500 people. They have a good sized bar, selling drinks and snacks. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The seating is not fixed, so you don’t feel trapped in cramped seats. We have been to see kids shows here, stand up comedy, and quite a few plays as well. Always feel welcome and comfortable. Parking is not too bad. I often park on the street nearby. As long as you get there early it’s not normally an issue.

Travelled from Rotorua to the theatre in pouring rain to see Chicago" today. Absolutely fabulous show - excellent dancing and singing and made to feel most welcome. Will be back ... oh and the trip home? The rain just kept coming down."

First time visit to the theatre and was pleasantly surprised. Well organized, helpful staff, seating was good with plenty of leg room. The acoustic were very good and the view of the stage was excellent. We will be looking out for other events and will be back. Thanks Clarence theatre for a great evening. Those that have not been there should certainly give it a try.

Beautiful venue. The old theater we were in has been tastefully done even if the front seats are a wee bit too close to the front of the stage.Awesome night with Jimmy Carr for the laughs

Having seen a few great shows at The Clarence Street Theatre you can imagine the excitement at the thought of a great evening's entertainment when, for one night only, Cabaret Naughty but Nice was billed at this grand establishment.Being the talk of the office, a group of colleagues and friends arrived expecting to see a show of dancing, singing and comedy.Well, apart from the singing, (of which the artists had great voices) it was very cringeworthy watching them murder renditions of some fabulous 'cabaret songs'.I, as with some of my group were also perplexed with the racous crowd in the balcony seating : were they paid to 'enjoy' themselves? To bring down the house with cheers, screaming and woops.....?? It appears that they were the only ones enjoying themselves last night.....or were they?Perhaps my idea of cabaret differs from last night's performance? Perhaps I was expecting the razza mataz of olde New York style showgirls dancing perfect choreographed moves in time with their singing? Perhaps they two guys thought they were a comedy duo but weren't,  delivering more crass than comedy. Perhaps it was an huge advertising gimmick for Blush Gin????? Or......just perhaps.......?Leaving at the break was the best option all round, (as it seemed with other patrons)  Sorry Clarence but last night's show was a flop.

Good acoustics. Comfortable seating. Stairs upstairs are quite steep( for the mature person). Parking can be problematic. Good stage to work on.

I enjoyed going to see the dark destroyer at Toi Toi recently. The catering staff were friendly to talk to.
