It was the first time in decades that I have been back here. To be honest I don't miss it. It was a nostalgic reminder of good times past however I enjoy the modern ergonomics of today's theatres, especially the new Queensgate theatre at Lower Hutt which, in my opinion, has been designed for customer comfort and not just bums on seats.

Avoid the gallery at all cost. Dangerously steep, poor view of the stage, hard seats, very hot, no air, took 30 minutes to get out through 4 flights of steep stairs and a single narrow door. Good luck if there's an emergency! Ruined an otherwise great show.

The performers and staff were absolutely amazing and the opera house itself is well setup giving good views from all around. However, the seats up top can be quite cramped and uncomfortable after sitting on them for long periods.

Seats need changing really uncomfortable, and need air conditioning went to a show last night got so hot, no air moving around.. got alot of character though..

Loved the venue. It’s cosy and yet grand.The acoustics are great and you can pretty much see the stage from every seat, even on the balconies.The terrace with view over the Te Aro park is also a nice place to wait for the show to start.

We attended Tina Turner Experience at the Opera House on Saturday night....wow, the concert was outstanding and the staff were very friendly and showed us to our allocated seats...it's been a number of years since been at this beautiful iconic building, still breathtaking...thanks The Opera House.
