Nepalese restaurant

Tama Eatery & Bar on Upper Queen St, CBD, was a fantastic exciting dining experience to have, trying out Nepalese cuisine. The restaurant was very quaint and modest looking and staff was super hospitable and welcoming.I ordered a mixed berry lassi due to the humid evening and this was very refreshing. To eat, I ordered some pork steamed dumplings served spicy and these have to be some of THE best dumplings I’ve ever tasted.My main was a chicken Nepalese curry with rice and roti. My dish was exceptional. I order very hot and the curry was so fragrant and aromatic not to mention, rustic. I was truly delighted, so much so that I want to return to try more of the menu. Highly recommended!

Really wanted to try takeaways. Unfortunately they don't have a website or answer the phone number advertised for takways. Unfortunately the business seems hard to contact so can't even try and make an order. Bit slack

We have not seen much people in this restaurant. The food is good. We have eaten few times here and taken takeaways too. I have never seen their advertisements, I suggested to the lady to do so in some free popular Indian news paper but suprisingly she did not hear about it. No idea how they manage their costing. All the Best to them.

Ordered a takeout from the Malabar Nepalese and Indian restaurant and we all were extremely happy with the food. The Chowmein, Momos along with the sauce are worth trying and we will definitely be coming back here in our next Taupo trip.

Foods are Delicious.They don't provide spoon/forks/napkins if you do take out food. This may be New Zealand's culture of restaurants as New Zealand is environment Friendly.

We love getting our takeaways from Kathmandu. It's our go-to for a quality curry takeaway and love showing off some of the top spots in Glen Eden when we've got friends round on a Friday night. Highly recommend both for their friendly team and delicious curries.

Fantastic service, delicious food, very nice ambiance, its a very neat place. A must try.

Really enjoyed having dinner here!! Highlights of this restaurant are the delicious food, the friendly staff and the clean but classy aesthetic. I will say this though, we came on a Monday night which wasn't super busy but the wait time for food did still feel a bit long. Nevertheless I didn't have too much of a problem with it, the quality of the food was worth the wait! The dishes were full of flavour with all the spices and the meat was cooked very well. Staff were very accommodating and even wrote happy birthday on our cake. Highly recommend!

I suspect this is now under new management as we used to order from here when it was called Gorkha and the food was excellent not so anymore and we will never return. We ordered a variety of curries including fish and chicken and everything tasted exactly the same. Confusingly, we couldn’t even tell the difference between the chicken and the fish and the curry sauce tasted exactly the same despite ordering different dishes. It went straight into the bin and we had sandwiches for dinner.Highly unrecommended.
