Ordered a takeout from the Malabar Nepalese and Indian restaurant and we all were extremely happy with the food. The Chowmein, Momos along with the sauce are worth trying and we will definitely be coming back here in our next Taupo trip.

Malabar Nepalese and Indian Kitchen
As a big fan of Indian food, I would say their food is amazing. And with all respect, we were very upset about the waiting time. We waited exactly an hour for 4 dishes, no one came and explained nothing or asked any further need. It looked that’s their common waiting time, I could see somebody came at the same time as we did, they waited around 1 hour as well even longer. However !!! I also saw that some customers came in long after us, they got their orders before us. I really had no idea about this but felt unfair. We didn’t get our water or napkin until we asked. Every time we asked, they apologized with friendly smile… is that the remedy ?

Taste & presentation are absolutely essential but customer service makes a huge difference. Thanks to you guys as you nailed at all of these. Taupo is one of our favourite destination so we will definitely be coming back to you.

Very nice place to have the dinner. We enjoy the starters dishes as well as main dishes but starters dishes was yummy and main dishes was ok but love it both.

My wife and I absolutely loved this restaurant!We ordered the Nepalese Chatpate, Chilli Momos, and Chicken Lollipops! We were so impressed with the flavours and freshen of the Chatpate!You could go and order naans and stuff, I am sure, but if you truly want to try great flavours and something different try the starters!We cannot recommend the Chatpate enough!Thank you also for the amazing service! We noticed that it wasn't just us that was so happy with their meals and your level of service!

Really great dining experience at Malabar, we ordered the set Nepalese for two. Everything was really flavourful and the portion size and spice level was spot on. One of the best Indian meals I've had in NZ. The restaurant was almost full but service was still very good.

Service was nice, food was ok. The hot and sour soup wasn’t sour at all, mango chicken was too sweet and no salt, Vege platter was good except onion rings. Pudding was delicious, and awesome cocktails.
