Whitestone Cheese
Great selection of cheese. Too many to choose from! Our favourite is the Vintage Five Forks goat + cow blend. So delicious! You can’t miss this place in Oamaru. There are signs pointing to this place (from the highway). We ordered the cheese platter with cold cuts and coffee for our “brunch”. We also bought scones for takeaway as we were driving north. They also have cheese tours and we might’ve done it too, if we had the time. They have limited edition and “rare” cheese selection that can only be bought from this shop. Staff are nice and friendly. Spacious inside and toilet is clean. A must visit in Oamaru!

Zany Zeus Cheese Shop
Absolutely love Zany Zeus and hoping the store will reopen one day soon! Super delicious ice cream, yoghurt, cheese, milkshakes and more! We still get our dairy products from one of their stockists buy I can confirm, the big queues of people you would see when driving past were for a reason!

Barrys Bay Traditional Cheese
Very good culture, not sure who owns it and who rennet.Very tasty blue cheese.If you go for the miniatures, or “Fifty Shades of Gruyere” as I thought to call them afterwards and in the car, then you’ll have enough for the rest if the road trip.

Lured by the friendly offerings of free cheese tasting, we entered this shop and were pleased to see they had Kapiti ice cream which was delicious! One staff member was friendly and helpful, however the other staff member seemed to have a permanent scowl on her face and when we asked for an extra spoon to share our ice cream we were told coldly we normally only do one spoon per cup". Ruined our experience of this otherwise awesome store
