Barrys Bay Traditional Cheese
Very good culture, not sure who owns it and who rennet.Very tasty blue cheese.If you go for the miniatures, or “Fifty Shades of Gruyere” as I thought to call them afterwards and in the car, then you’ll have enough for the rest if the road trip.

Nice little shop with a good selection of cheese (offcuts available for a reduced price). Small selection of chorizo/salami/olives/crackers etc if you’d like to have an impromptu picnic. Really lovely lady served us this morning and we had a good chat about cheese knives. Stop by and say hello if you love cheese!

Barrys Bay Cheese is amazing. Incredibly yummy. I am particularly partial to their Havarti, and in my recent order the cheese fairy at Barrys Bay Cheese granted me my cheese wish which has made me very very very happy! This service was over and above what I would expect - top marks to my cheese fairy.

A must do on the drive to Akaroa! Really wonderful cheese, great variety of free samples and amazing customer service! A lovely lady who worked there even let us use an ice block to keep the cheese cool on our way back to christchurch, was very kind of her and made a really big impact on us! Thank you again :)

Barrys Bay Traditional Cheese
A little factory and shop great for a quick stop after coming down the mountain pass. We put together a little wine cheese salami and crackers and then headed to the waterfront at Akaroa and enjoyed the relaxing view and quality fresh produce.
