The most chill car rental experience ever.Got in at 810 got out by 820. Cost $55 NZD for the 24 hour rental and the car worked as expected.They offer lower rates than the rest because they also own a mechanic shop on site so they fix and maintain the cars themselves.

I had the worst experience with these Indian guys.They slap a huge $3000 on deposit and they try everything to rob off from the deposit when you return the vehicle. Their reason was the cleaning" fee for the "mess" we have left on floor. You can see what "mess" they're talking about on my picture (leaves

Great car rental. Super smooth pick and drop off. car nice and tidy. toddler was asleep in the car as we dropped it off and they kindly drove us to the airport in the same car so he could have some extra sleep; much appreciated!

Catastrophic services. Car rented from 17h30 through internet but the desk required us to collect the car earlier to be able to close the desk on time. And the agency did not agreed to any refund event after we gave back the car one day earlier.

Fantastic service, very reasonable rates, we rented a Toyota Corolla which is a great little car, we had a fantastic trip and had no issues from beginning to end.We would be happy to use Mode again!! Thank you for providing wonderful services.

Good value rental but the pickup at the airport was a bit of a hassle as it took 15 minutes to get through to someone for a shuttle pickup. And requires a call to be made immediately after arriving in the country, so have to get a SIM or use Skype over wifi or beg a phone to call for pickup. Then the return downtown was not well explained and I had to look for street parking for some time, park a block away, and then find the key drop. There are multiple parking zones / lots / private / public and it wasn’t clear where to leave the car given that the area in front of the old rail station had 0 parking available.

Good service and great cost for value. Would definitely use again. The office for mode rentals is actually inside the old station building if you have having trouble finding it.

All good no issues. Everything as expected. Good car for a good price. Easy check out and check in process. Would be good to get an email to acknowledge receipt of the car being dropped back though.

Mode don't have the best cars in the world but they are cheap and reliable. We have had no problems with car or service the two times we have used them. Given the price I would recommend.

If you are keen on driving vehicles that don't meet New Zealand safety standards then this is the company for you.We recently booked a car with Mode Rentals and the left front tyre was bald. When we voiced our concerns with one of the staff members... they walked away. I thought they were going to ask someone out back... but after waiting for 10 minutes, they never returned.We had asked for another car or if they could replace the tyre, but unfortunately no go. Ended up booking with Go Rentals down the road who were super professional and helpful!!For the past 20 days we have been trying to get our money back. I held of leaving this review in the hope Phillip the company director would have a little integrity... instead he seems to avoid any form of contact. Yes I got a few emails back, but that is it. Was told he would call... which he did, unfortunately I missed the call. I've asked him to call me back a few times now during business hours rather than 6pm on Friday night. Still no response.If you want my advice spend a few more dollars on decent car rental company. Phillip is a crook.
