Authentic Kerala cuisine. Snacks were very tasty. Especially egg baji , onion vada , chicken roll and cutlet. ( some of the egg baji were not properly cooked inside when we dined this time- can excuse it given the taste of the nicely cooked ones) . Chicken biriyani and kappa biriyani are must try items . Masala dosa and ghee roast were extremely delicious. Should try them at the restaurant when hot an and crispy rather than taking them away . Coffee is the next must to try item. We ended up having 3 coffees . ( it will be better if it can be served a bit more hot- on last 2 occasions the coffee were only like Luke warm.). Very friendly staff( Sibil) at the counter. If you are a fan of snacks , please ring before visiting as they get sold out very fast. Nice ambience to dine in. Can accommodate up to 16 -18 people at a time easily

Great food. We ordered takeaway but discovered after reaching home that one item was missing. We rang to enquire and the owner immediately offered to bring that item to our house! In addition they gave us a complimentary dish. Very impressed!

I love little finds like the Salt Mango Tree restaurant. Places like this offer such rewarding food experiences that are completely unexpected, if you keep a laissez faire attitude. And that is exactly what my wife and I got when trying somewhere new for a winter evening out.You could be forgiven your scepticism if you look at the street address alone. But that would be a mistake. Leave your preconceptions at home.Though the place is small and cosy, I would encourage you to dine-in if room allows. The owner, who does the front of house, is an amazing host who made some great recommendations and was able to offer his commentary on the dishes we enjoyed. While waiting for our dishes, I noticed the food display cabinet. It was almost empty as a constant stream of customers did their level best to leave only cumbs at the end of the day, but nabbed what was described as a spicy Donut, like fry bread in texture and savouriness with chopped herbs and spices folded in and a crispy crust. I will be back for more of these. And then a delicious square savoury pastry which had a half boiled egg in an onion gravy. Like I said, unexpected. We had the most to-die-for chicken biryani I've ever had, which I never knew could be so complex in flavour, and so rich in aroma. Our last dish was Chili Gopi. A vegetable dish with dough covered cauliflower in a tomato and onion base, and an assortment of veges.Things to note, the only drinks available at the time was the table water, though we were given hot drinks between meals which was nice. Possibly an issue for others. My wife and I were not phased. The shop has no heating source other than the kitchen, so if you notice the cold easily, then dress warm. Again, not phased. Lastly there were no Salt Mangoes, but owner will happily tell you how he chose the name of his business. Thanks for the great food and we wish him success for the future.
