Easily the worst company I have ever dealt with. Did not do what I asked, price gouged like I have never experienced, then took me to arbitration, to pay a huge amount, although they had done nothing.(they did not prevail).Do yourself a favour, use anyone else.Whats funny is that it was a very simple job, I was testing them for a much bigger project($40k-$50k), man did they ever fail that test LOL. AVOID!

Cannot praise this company high enough. Installed a new gas hob from electric. Right from initial phone call they have been awesome, came out and quoted job, informed us in advance of change of date, then day of installation arrived on time, very professional, courteous and friendly, informative right throughout so no hesitation in highly recommending them. Price was very good too.

Charged an insane amount for a weekend call-out and couldn’t fix the issue that day.I was told they would call with a quote and send someone to fix the leak the next day which would incur another call-out fee plus parts plus labour. They never called. The only contact I had was to pay the bill.Further they had me sign the work sign off before the tech had filled it out, really scummy.Brought in another company who actually fixed my leak which only required a gasket (not an entire heating element as Southern had said).

I have used Southern Plumbing many times for bathroom renovation, infinity install, gas fire service etc. etc.They are always prompt to get back to me and their service is very thorough and completed to a professional standard. Doug is always great with queries and organisation of the staff.

Southern Plumbing and Gasfitting were amazing! We had number of issues that needed fixing and our gas appliances serviced and Rob was amazing kept me informed throughout and I was very happy with the work he completed. I will definitely use Southern Plumbing again and recommend them to friends and family!

Southern Plumbing replaced the controller on our solar hot water system. A couple of weeks after completion an issue occurred.Southern Plumbing's response to the problem was utterly unprofessional. The plumber, who had installed it, came along, couldn't identify the cause and said that he'd do some research. He also mentioned that his boss had identified the pump as the cause: a diagnosis from afar. Next we received a call from Doug who, in a rather abrupt and dismissive manner, explained to me that the pump was the problem and that it had nothing to do with them. Their involvement ended when they'd supplied power to the pump". Again a diagnosis from afar. In the same conversation Doug stated that they don't diagnose plumbing problems over the phone.I was told that any further involvement of theirs would be charged for irrespectively - full stop.It's obvious that these guys wanted to have the problem off their books. Doug shouldn't be involved in a service industry. Service is an alien concept to him.Stay well clear of Southern Plumbing."

Southern Plumbing unblocked our kitchen gully. Service was very quick and the blockage was removed just as fast, but the minimum charge of $495 felt a little extortionate. I would hazard to guess if you shop around there are competitors with lower minimum charges.Other than sticker shock, Southern was not particually informative or friendly to deal with. Definitely had better experiences with other company's.

We used Southern Plumbing to get the gas on our boat certified for insurance. They deemed our working/ existing set up non compliant, so put in a new pipe from the gas cylinder to the cooker, destroying everything on route. They opened cupboards and drilled holes through the doors, leaving the cupboards unusable. The boat was left in a disgusting state with all the belongings emptied throughout it. Nothing was put back where it had been before they had been onboard. They purchased all new components, a lot we already had, just to add substantial amounts to our bill. Very poor service. My Partner and I very upset with the outcome. We live in Hawkes Bay and feel we have been taken advantage of as we left our boat in their safe hands.

Excellent customer service. Chris goes through the process of explaining the issue and how to resolve it, as well as being clear and upfront about the cost of different options. He also was committed to the timeframes we agreed on; no delays or no-shows. Simply quality work that's worth the money.The accounts team is also fantastic. I made a mistake of overpaying and it could have gone unnoticed from my end but I received a notification from Southern Pluming informing me that I have overpaid, and the extra amount was refunded within a couple of days.

The temporary removal and re-installation of our solar hot water system was completed very efficiently. Each stage of the work was completed on time, within quoted cost and to a high standard. We received excellent customer service from all staff.
