The room itself was great—clean, comfortable, and equipped with all necessary amenities. The onsen was also a delightful addition to my stay.However, I must address the disappointing incidents of racism encountered during my visit. Regrettably, the lady who checked us in displayed discriminatory behaviour, which tarnished my overall experience. Such incidents of bias have no place in any establishment, let alone in the hospitality industry where inclusivity should be paramount.I urge the management to take these matters seriously and implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Every guest should be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of their race or ethnicity.Despite these unfortunate occurrences, I appreciate the effort put into maintaining a pleasant room and providing a relaxing onsen experience. It is my hope that the management will prioritize inclusivity and ensure that all guests feel welcome and valued.I encourage the motel to address these issues and create an environment that embraces diversity and inclusivity.

We loved our stay at Terume, such nice and friendly owners, the hot spring is so relaxing even on a summer evening! It just relaxes your body before you head off to relax some more in your recently renovated rooms! The facilities are impeccable and location is central! Highly recommended!

Highly recommend this Japanese style Onsen in Rotorua, owned and operated by a family couple who has deep knowledge about underground nz natural mineral water, they worked very hard just to making sure that every guest can enjoy clean, pure mineral underground water and the best Onsen experience (talk to them and you will know the difference between their onsen vs Polynesian Spa). Host are very friendly as long as you are keeping the rules, all they care about are your safety and comfort.

Appreciate owner puts a lot of effort into maintain a high quality of onsen experience. Feel so good to enjoy the hot spring in the wonderful Japanese garden

So glad that we chose this place to stay. It is literally close to every spot.The rooms looked newly renovated. Clean and cozy. Friendly service and the hot spring was awesome!!Definitely one of my best accommodation experience in NZ.The front gate was locked at night for security reasons, which I think was a pretty smart idea and made us feel safer and more relaxed. Entry was still accessible for us when we came back late as the gate key was provided at check-in.Would recommend to everyone looking for accommodations in Rotorua.

Just spend 3 nights at Terume. The room was spacious, my son loved Onsen, bed the pillows were comfortable for me and the owner was super nice. He even offered to take us to the bus stop. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay at this Japanese onsen ryokan. We had the deluxe one bedroom and it was perfect for our family.The owner was very nice and friendly - he speaks cantonese and I learned Cantonese from my parents so we had a good chat.You can reserve a 30-minute time slot in the AM, PM and evening for each nightly stay. It's done via the paper form at the front desk. The onsen was amazing and it's perfect for a family!

Really well kept, and the onsen seemed authentic. Friendly management. The accommodation spaces are nice having recently been renovated.
