Tailor Made Tekapo Accommodation - Guesthouse & Hostel

I think I don't need to write something about the hostel itsself, as there are many reviews, but I want to write something about the guest friendly service: We stayed in three different rooms and made three separate bookings as there was no private room + bath available for three following nights. So normally, we would need to check out and in on each day and carry our luggage to the new room on checkin time. Thankfully this was not necessary, as Jovana moved our backpacks in the new room, while we were hiking. The next day Jovana prepared the new (third) room so fast, that we were able to checkout and in" at 10 am (normal checkin at 2 pm).This was simply great and underlined our good and relaxing stay - thank you and all the best :-)"

Nothing to fault. Was told has undergone a total refurb in recently couple of years. Clean. Good shower. Comfy bed. Easy non contact check in. Quiet. Private. Very good job.

Lovely hostel with a lovely garden and cosy common room and clean kitchen. We prefered the room without en suite over the one with (due to an extra night and limited availability we got to compare). The building is onder but it's all very clean. A pity that there aren't any animals anymore.

The rooms and bathrooms were all very clean and spacious and great for the 1 night we stayed here. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook a good meal and was very large. The location is just outside of town, but an easy and pretty 5 minute walk. The lake views are unbelievable and Tekapo is a must see! Most places seemed to shut down early, so we are glad we brought food to make in the hostel.

We loved staying in this hostel! We had a private room with ensuite and it was so comfortable and decorated very tastefully and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was a highlight for me, so clean and well equipped with decent equipment like great knives and pans. Although the key collection is by envelope I still felt like I had plenty of information from their email and didn't have any questions. Having the tennis and basketball courts use was also a bonus. The location is good but not right in the centre so still quiet. Wish we'd stayed longer!

Kitchen is clean, tidy and equipped. We stayed in the Trio room. The room itself is comfortable and comes with blanket and heater. Carpet looks like it's relatively new. There was no reception on site. Keys were left on a counter for people to pick up.The only reason for the low star was no hot shower available and disappointed because there was no reply from the accommodation manager. Tried many times over a few hours and there was no hot water coming out. On a freezing cold night and especially when it's the time of the month for ladies, a cold shower is the last thing you want. Contacted the accommodation through email and message and there was no reply at all. Would have given a one star, but everything else was comfortable.Accommodation is highly recommended especially at the price it's at, but I'd presume that generally hot water for showe would be included in the cost as well. And in the shower, there was also no hair and body wash pump bottle though in the email it said those were provided. Will recommend to anyone who's on a tight budget and not fussed with no one to contact in case there's an issue.

After having shared facilities for the last couple of days it was a joy to get our own bathroom. Lovely quiet setting with hammocks and a garden to sit in. Big, well equipped kitchen. Simple bedroom but totally fine, comfy bed and great WiFi. Easy check-in, plenty of parking and good location close to town. Would happily return.

After 9 Days of tramping in the wild mountains and rivers between Arthurs Pass and Lake Tekapo, we arrived to this place. It really felt like Home away from Home". Super cosy and clean facilities. The members of the team were super friendly and helpful. As long distance hikers we couldn't afford most of the other places

Terrible laundry service. We were able to wash our clothes at around 3 pm but unable to use the dryer (even though it was raining). We asked staff when we could use the dryer and they said try after 9:30 pm. We tried again, it was still in use. We decided to hang dry the clothes in the room. The following day it was drizzling, so we tried to use the dryer again. It was again, in use. I waited until the dryer was done to put my clothes in, except the staff refused to let us. I explained the situation to them, and they said we could dry our stuff outside. Overall, our room smelled terrible and we had to wash our stuff at our next hostel. Rude staff, absolutely no professionalism

Cute, quiet and well maintained hostel near the town center. Lake Tekapo isn't too busy, so free and available parking spots on the side of the road. The kitchen was always kept very clean as well as the toilets and showers. The common area is cozy with a little oven.There are rabbits and guinea pigs outside, so lovely. The room was big enough and the pricing is fair.
