Amazing place to be and perfect for a wedding. Lots of activities and places to explore, I wish we had time to do more! Staff was lovely and helpful. For highly recommend a visit and would happily return again.

What an amazing day! If you are looking for a stunning wedding venue with excellent service and attention to detail, look no further. The team at Makoura Lodge made our wedding day a breeze and we definitely made things difficult. Full custom vegan menu and constant changes but they handled everything with a smile and enthusiasm. Well done guys, highly recommended!

We just finished a two night stay at Glenluce Cottage. Beautiful rural location providing for lots of activities or simple relaxation if that is more your thing. The self contained cottage dates back to the early 1900s and the original joinery is really beautiful.We loved the 4WD Safari with Hugh amongst the slippery conditions and my daughter loved saying hello to the very cute piggies.My only suggestion is for a bigger coffee pot as the small one was in overdrive for all 8 of us!We will rebook to come again soon :)From the Turner family

Had a fantastic short break -mum and daughter time away. Stayed in Spa suite which was spacious, well equipped and warm. We had a lovely evening meal in front of open fire at Lodge. The setting is fantastic. I enjoyed the farm loop track and my daughter loved the Horses helping Humans session. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Plan to return soon.

What a fabulous place to visit, stayed in the Burnside cottage with another couple, it was the perfect spot. Fabulous old art deco style cottage with everything you need. Well appointed with lovely linens, comfy beds and excellent lounge kitchen area. Having the option to go to the lodge restaurant for meals is a bonus, but the cottage is equipped for self catering. We did the clay bird shooting, which is just 1 of the many activities you can participate in here. This would be a perfect place for conferences, team building, and ideal for the many weddings they have here.

Went for a wedding looked at rooms they looked nice. Clean and tidy they were great people and great food.

My husband and I had our wedding at Makoura Lodge this weekend. Our experience throughout the entire planning and day itself has been amazing, despite the constantly changing covid restrictions they were so easy to work it out with and fast at communicating with us throughout it all. When it came to the wedding day, all the staff were friendly, easy-going and made everything go so smoothly. We want to shout out Sammi and Kate who had the most to do with our wedding, but all our guests had such lovely things to say about you all. Not to mention the food was 10/10! If I had to do this wedding all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing about having it at Makoura Lodge because it was so so perfect. Thank you guys SOOOOO much!

Found the lodge by accident on the net but was a great surprise.Our dinner was delicious, the platter on arrival was very nice with a good selection, the Rack of lamb was perfectly cooked with yummy seasonal veggies, followed by a fruit crumble and ice cream.. our room was very comfortable with awesome views of the Ruahines and a very peaceful location
