Wow there's literally hundreds of birds here. It can be a little noisy and people feed the ducks/geese ( don't feed them bread please) the grass does flood in heavy rain. There is a self-contained camper park here and the road noise is minimal.

Awesome place to walk around, lots of trails, peaceful and well maintained. Family friendly and easy to get around in as little or as long as you'd like to make it. Picnic areas and play areas spaced out around too.

There's a WHOLE LOAD of very loud but very beautiful bird life, black swans, geese and ducks, at the lake which was nice for a stroll around. And a disc golf course if that's your jam! I freedom camped and there were loads of bins, BBQs and as a huge luxury there's even a free hot shower! The men's/women's bathrooms shut at 5pm but we're open when I checked at 7am and the disabled bathroom is open throughout the night. There were water taps too but no signage so would recommend boiling. Traffic noise from the main road close by was very minimal.

Probably the best freedom camping spot we've found. Magic surroundings, great walk around the lake and dog friendly, very clean loos and even a warm shower. Well done Masterton!

Lovely walk round Lake, with several track options; trees are magnificent, birds plentiful specially Black Swans and Canada Geese; good dog walking and peaceful ambience throughout.

Good place for a weekend visit. There is cycle track. You can take your pet as well. They have a free barbecue area. You can do family picnic (take cooked food with you and one time use plates).

Great for freedom camping if you need. Clean toilet and shower block as well. Come down and visit with the family for a great place to picnic, feed the ducks and yourselves too.

Love this place, go walking every day.Excellent for every one old and young, people like walking there dogs if the dogs aren't walking them.,There are people cycling and running, on the lake there is rowing, plenty to keep you fit or just to go and relax or feed the ducks and swans.I would recommend everyone visit this beautiful lake and the visitors from out of town certainly worth a trip to theWAIRARAPA HENLEY LAKE PARKBeautiful place to go, recommend this place for every one to visit.Love it.Thankyou Louise.
