A lovely walkway in the bush and to the beach. We took the entrance at 95 Onetaunga Road, Chatswood to start. Another entrance is close to the intersection of Bragato Place and Onetaunga Road.

Track is well maintained and leads to the beautiful beach cove. Stairs are quite a climb but lots of places to rest along the way.

Fantastic trails hugging the clifftop with great views over to Auckland City and Kendall Bay. Good for running with your dog on a lead or a gentle stroll with kids.

Beautiful scenery, but not easy. Watch your every step and mind your ankles. Imagune it to be quite treacherous during wet winter months.Stunning view of Auckland bridge and tower.

Kauri Point Centennial Park
Great reserve for a beautiful evening walk. We started from Onetaunga road entrance, walked through the reserve. On the way back we took a diversion to Kendall bay.Overall, it was 5.2 kms return without covering the Chatswood reserve. You can see quite a lot old kauri trees. The reserve was not crowded at all and you get it quite to yourself. No toilet facilities within or in the vicinity.Great views throughout the walk with seats/benches placed at strategic viewpoints. You'll encounter birds such as tui, fantail etc.. Tracks are good though not much manmade and marked. It's kind of a clearing through the tree roots and hence can get slippery if wet.Though it's an easy walk, average fitness is required as there are a few cliff areas which will connect to the Chelsea Heritage park. If you've more time, you can combine this with the Chatswood reseve which will take an hour extra.Overall a pleasant experience and a must do in Auckland, especially if you love reserve walking.

Kauri Point Centennial Park
This is a nice place for picnic, getting there is a little hard without car, nice beach very secluded. No toilets or showers.

Nice bush walk - not too challenging. Perfect for summer walk as it's covered by trees. Kendall Bay beach is small and calm with no waves. The water is clear. You can see occasionally yacht sailing by. If there is a public toilet, that'd be great.
