Bassingers Motor Lodge

Overall low, the 2 bedroom unit (no.5) located far left of the complex, is closest to the train track. The train disturbed everyones sleep (3xadults 1xchild). Traffic on the main road could be clearly heard aswel, even though the unit was furtherest away from the road. The TV in the bedroom wouldnt connect. The bathroom has bad condensation, and flaking paint on bathroom ceiling. Really dissapointed the spa bath was out of order (my main reason for this booking was for the spa bath), couldnt use spa bath tub at all, even though the sign said it could still be used for normal bath. The outside seating area at the rear/side of the unit looked cold, and dingy, so closed the curtain to block the view. Will not be returning,

SO NOISY AND RIGHT ON THE TRAIN TRACK. The room was nice and bed super comfy but there was no double glazing so you could hear people next door as clear as day and also outside, plus the main road traffic PLUS the train going past out the back door. The outside light was right outside our door and the curtains weren't thick enough so we put a blanket up, the tap ran hot for too long so ended up cleaning our teeth with hot water, there was no air-conditioner despite the sign, we got the disabled room, even though we didn't ask for it, so the water from the shower went everywhere, the fan didn't work either. It was so disappointing as we were both so tired at the end of our stay.

We recently stayed with Gavin and Evelyn for a period of time. They were friendly and accommodating. The premises were clean and spacious and Handy to town but not in town. The property was well frequented but not not busy or had noisy neighbors. It was cleaned regularly well stocked , and cosy for the extended period we were there. Highly recommended if you need to stay in Levin.

Sorry i cannot review Bassinger motor lodge double bed is 2 stained singles zipped together so no doubt will roll in the middleOnly decent thing about it is it's walking distance to town spa bath broke and no hot water and the mould around the shower was terrible and unhealthy especially for someone who has lung disease trains and traffic were terrible cause we were put in unit 6 probably because Oranga Tamariki were paying through OrbitI Do not recommend this place at all especially after driving 5.5 hrs was so disappointedShame I can't put up photos as proof

Was a nice place to stay. Trains do go through town on a daily basis. But you can choose to ignore them.

Myself and my husband are from the UK and we stayed at Bassingers for 5 weeks. Gavin and Evelyn were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The motel was spotless, had everything we needed for our stay. Shower and jet bath were amazing. The 3 ladies Stacey, Ni (sorry if I've spelt your name wrong lol ) and Michelle who cleaned our rooms were amazing always looked after us and always made sure we had everything. We would definitely recommend staying here. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit.Thanks again to you all for looking after us at No 11.Tracey and Al

The spacious, clean, and well appointed family unit was a welcome sight after a long day of travelling.While not brand spanking new, it was reasonably modern, and very “liveable”.Great to have the smart TV in the lounge, plus a standard wall mounted one in the main bedroom.Storage in both rooms was amazing.The linen was fresh and the beds and pillows sooo comfortable.Housekeeping were very accommodating when our unit, despite booking for 5 people, only came with 4 of everything, ie plates, cutlery, towels etc. Super service!We cooked a meal in the kitchen - the only thing we missed was an oven, but the hot plates and microwave did the job for what we made.I didn’t notice the noise that others have mentioned - we were right at the back away from the road, nearer the train track, but I slept like a baby!Only negatives would be that the spa bath was out of order (awaiting a part), the shower had quite a bit of mildew around the edges/seals, and the paint is flaking terribly on the ceiling. Fixing these few things up would make a big difference.Another note - our next accommodation on our trip had a washer and dryer in the room, and an oven. I feel that these would be welcome additions at Bassingers also for anyone travelling as a family.

My parents stayed here and really enjoyed their stay. Spacious rooms, large kitchenette, dining table, spacious bathroom with useful toiletries.My sister stayed In a 1 bedroom unit which had 2 beds, a couch, and a spa bath. It also had a full kitchen with a stove. Both rooms were super clean and not warm out. My parents also ordered a cooked breakfast and a continental breakfast and we're happy with both. Highly recommend! This motor lodge is close to everything you need, including 3 supermarkets.
