Jim Barnett Reserve
Beautiful little reserve. Would be nice to go camping there over a weekend with your family. Can cycle only short routes inside reserve but it forms part of Waikato River Trail so possible to do more riding on the trail.

Highly recommend! Great walking tracks with birdsong. We've been followed trough the reserve by many many fantails. Camping available to and enjoyed a night's stay. Peaceful and quiet. Good to take kids along too!

Lovely, beautiful, bird song filed reserve. Calm strolls. Level 1 on the terrain, nothing difficult here. Great for kids. Bring a picnic to have on the grass at the entrance or maybe on the big tower. Free, no tickets.

The trails are nice, easy, pretty and short, and the totara was glorious.I could hear kiwis and birds in night. However there were one other couple camping there who had a shouting match and played obnoxiously loud music which ruined my stay.Cows woke me up in the early morning due to it being surrounded by farms. The water wasn't working, but luckily I brought plenty of my own. Just be aware.

This was a surprisingly well maintained spot - picnic tables, tap water, toilet and a shelter shed for picnicers. The track trees were amazingly well labelled - great idea. Mountain bike trail as well. Lots of Tuis and pigeons. Quite a lot of bird calls in the bush.

What a lovely place to stop for , as little or bigger walk you want. Through some beautiful NZ bush, while listening to our native birds.

Really enjoyed this beautiful serene nature walk. I walked the Totara, Tramways & Keruru tracks which took me about 45 minutes. Trails were very dry and not much ascent/descent at all. Perfect spot for a day walk. Followed through the bush by many fantails. Spotted some interesting mushrooms also. Stunning trees, flora and fauna allround.

25 mins drive from Tokoroa.Small forestry reserve with big and old trees.Track fully shaded. Not maintaining well.No wheelchair access.Took me about 25 mins to cover the whole reserve with its longest tracks.Theirs a small stream at the edge.Having a camping/picnic area with tap water.

Great place to have a walk. Many short trails with nature all around. Probably took a little more than an hour to walk about 80% of the whole place. Pretty shaded so light rain or the brutal sun won't bother you much. Drop by if you're around the area.

A small reserve where you can also camp. It has running water, a shelter, toilets, huge picnic table and ample seating. It's like a wee oasis plonked out in the middle of a farming area. The native trees are predominantly young with a few mature ones peppered throughout. The canopy is home to various birdlife which you can get to see and hear at times. The tracks are all well signposted and either intersect or join up to each other. The great thing is; they can all be completed in one go. The Waikato River Trails cyclists also utilise this beautiful reserve before meandering onto either Waipapa or Arapuni in the other direction. So be aware it is a shared track. Definitely worth turning off the beaten track to see this wee pocket of nature. Hats off the the people that tend to this reserve.
