The Espy Cafe
Staff were so welcoming and they had a smile on their faces. Service was fast and very efficient. We didn’t have to wait for too long for our coffee and meals, which was awesome. Above all the food and coffee was so delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely location right on the water. Food was good for the price and coffee was just okay. Very popular spot and nice to see it's pet friendly. Staff were great and service was quick.Parking can be scarce because there's another busy cafe right next door.

Away on holiday and can hear both mornings.Absolutely amazing food, the service was just as great. Even when it was busy the food came out promptly and looked as amazing as it tasted.They were willing to talk us through some options to do, talk fishing and just be so helpful!Will definitely be coming here whenever we come back!

The epitome of simple done well! Staff are super lovely and the food is all home made with fresh ingredients.Also heaps of seating options both indoor and outdoor from where you can see the beach.Bonus points for adding the free chocolate fish with our Mocha!

Lovely setting close to the Whitianga Wharf. Nice atmosphere, kid friendly, and wonderful attentive staff.Ordered our meal & as soon as I got to the table the Tea we ordered was arriving. The Ice coffee (amazing as per photo) was not far behind. Within 15 minutes, both the bacon & and eggs, plus my Creamy Mushrooms, had arrived. Very impressed, loved the food and def would go back again!

What a lovely surprise. Coffee was very tasty and service very quick and attentive. We went for breakfast but the chicken burger on the all day menu caught my attention. It was absolutely delicious. One of those rare treats where you go somewhere expecting mediocrity and it's actually bloody good.

We called ahead to reserve a table with our 3 month old, but got seated right next to the main entrance with the businest foot traffic within the restaurant.As for the food, we had a pork nachos, a chicken burger and a cappuccino + chai late. The pork nachos - a chef's special - was the best out of the lot. It had a good amount of pulled pork (which was actually tasty by itself)and almost a full pack of nachos (tasted like store bought $2 nacho packs). Could have done with bit more cheese and some better quality nachos.The chicken burger was below average with the crispy" chicken being very dry and stale. Our eldest enjoyed the chips

The quickest service I’ve had in an Australian or New Zealand cafe! And accurate too - an excellent large single shot skinny latte extra hot with a sleeve (amazing how many places get this order wrong) and delicious brownie. Perfect place to wait for your trip on the Ocean Leopard which boards from the ferry jetty across the road!
