Recovering from a concussion and suffering chronic fatigue for over a year, my GP and ACC couldn't help much with my symptom. I nearly quit my job due to my fatigue. Finally, I tried the herb medicine Dr Shi prescribed for about three months. Herbal medicine helped me able to go through stressful working times. I kept my job, still working full-time!! Big thanks for Dr Shi.

Went twice 2 years ago for needle treatment+purchase medicine, quite effective to ease body pain, physician attitude was patient . Returned this year for treatment again recently, with the same physician. I strongly felt he lost patience after being told I'll just do needle treatment without taking medication (despite he keep recommending that the treatment is more effective in long term if go along with the chinese herbs). Of course I agree with the theory but their med is really too costly for me.

It's great to see a Chinese medicine shop in Christchurch, however I'm really disappointed with the customer service. The lady just stood behind the counter as I asked a question and she just pointed her finger to where to go and did not move behind the counter. Not helpful at all. Shocking and bad service, gives the company a very bad image.

I have had some herds medicine recently from Dr Shi. I feel it is quite effective. I believe that Dr Shi is quite professional in prescribing Chinese herd medicine. He is a experienced TCM prescriber. My problem can be treated here properly using TCM. Therefore I do not need to go back to China to seek for help. I feel lucky that I can find a true TCM doctor in Christchurch.

My baby who is now 10 months old have been taking Chinese medicine for more than 2 months, he is now eczema free, reflux free, having good weight gain and a happy boy. My deepest gratitude goes to Dr. Yang Jianqiang who newly joined this practice, he brought with him his comprehensive understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine, invaluable experience and a breath of fresh air to this OLD practice.so 5 star to this ethical doctor who genuinely cares for his patients.4 star to the quality of the herbal medicine, they are better than what you can get from elsewhere and the quality does affect the effectiveness of treatment.3 star to the price of the medicine (reasonable consultation charge especially if the doctor is a good one, It would be great if they could offer discount on necessary frequent revisits), not sure if it's more expensive than others, it's just not so affordable in general especially if they are to be taken on a daily basis, or maybe it's just because I am not as rich!

Very helpful ladies at the front desk. So thankful for their help every time. Good quality herbs. Highly recommended!

Been there in Nov 2015:Very expensive Chinese herbal medicine (around NZD $20 per packet).Standard consultation fee.Plenty of parking.Within walking distance around supermarkets and eateries + other shops.Would I go back? No

I wouldn't recommend the TCM doctor here to be honest.My mum came with me for a diagnosis and prescription as my interpreter because he speaks Mandarin.I will say that his prescribed herb packets are effective, but are they efficiently effective? Absolutely not.My mum said that a good TCM doctor would prescribe as little herbs as possible to address whatever ailment the patient has. This man is in the business of selling Chinese herbs, not curing patients, which I find abhorrent because it is unethical and unsustainable in many ways - both for the patient and for the environment. The more herbs he prescribes, the more product he sells. My mum asked for 3 packets of herbs instead of 6 as he recommended, and he gave her the side eye and advised 6 packets would be more effective.You literally need a stockpot to simmer each packet because the quantity of herbs in each packet is so much.It cost me over $200 for 6 packets and I'm never returning and have warned everyone I know to not visit this doctor because I found his method of practice distasteful.A lot of labour goes into harvesting Chinese herbs, processing them for packing and shipment. Some of the plant species are becoming increasingly rare because of demand, it's totally disrespectful to the environment and to the people picking the herbs to be this wasteful by prescribing so many unnecessarily.My mum will be returning to her hometown to get more efficient and effective treatment from a more honest doctor.

There is a reasonable selection of over-the-counter medicines. However, the staff members who served me showed little enthusiasm.

Rude personnel! I asked for more info and my question was totally ignored. Perhaps I need to speak Chinese....Otherwise it's expensive.
