Tulip Hire

Tulip just did our driveway, culverts and house site. They did a great job, were really nice to work with and completed quickly. We have hard pan clay and Ben the excavator did an amazing job getting the site perfectly level, very well drained and he left the site so tidy!

Tulip did my house site excavation. Not a big job, but they had great communication, and the job was done expertly and quickly. I'll definitely use them to do my driveway next year.

Bad news. Sam delivered the roller and told me I needed more fines in the base. The machine wasn't booked again until the weekend so it could sit here until I could start the job. Perhaps it was because I didn't buy the fines from him but Sam later tried to charge me for the extra day the machine sat idle. He charged one hour truck ($150)hire to deliver the machine when I'm only ten minutes up the road. He then charged the same again to take it away even though it was going straight to the next job and presumably they were being charged too. The diesel charge was over the top as well and the water sprayer didn't work. I would not use them again. Your just too greedy Sam.

Received an invoice by email marked 'overdue' from Tulip Contractors for 'bedding dust' from the Kaiwaka Yard, but have had no contact with Tulip Contractors, don't have a tow bar or a trailer, and was in Auckland on the day I was supposed to have collected materials. Sloppy accounting, or is dishonesty a factor?
