Whanganui River Adventures & Pipiriki Campinground

Ken's local knowledge is the secret ingredient to his jetboat guided tours on the awa, with plenty of history and stories thrown in . We really enjoyed our walk up to the Bridge to Nowhere. What a super special place to visit.Would love to return and use the little campground at Pipiriki as a base for further exploration.Seeing the awa valley from Ken's jet boat was a truly magical part of our Forgotten World Adventures 'Rhine of the Pacific' Tour.

Awesome campground and great friendly staff. Had a great 2 night stay... wish it was longer. Relaxing and peaceful place to stay. I will be coming back! You have to do the Bridge to Nowhere with them too... bloody fantastic day!

We did the overnight adventure on the river, and had a fantastic experience. The team at WRA took great care of us; the weather was a bit uncertain and they made us feel safe and looked after. Thomas was a super knowledgeable guide and we learned a lot about the local history and culture. The gear they supplied was top notch and held up to the rainy conditions. Definitely recommended; would book again!

Was a crisp morning cruise down the Wanganui River that turned into a fabulous day with Ken and his crew from Wanganui River Adventures! My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the day and thought it was all run so well, from the history & pictures to show, spots along the way to admire the surroundings, meeting the locals, even down to the bikkies and tea on the bridge to nowhere walk. Best jet boat tour in NZ, no doubt about it. Thanks again team!

Would absolutely recommend this authentic NZ experience. We were made to feel very welcome.We stayed 2 nights at their onsite camp ground where we found everything clean and tidy. Quiet, peaceful, safe.

Must do experience if you want a good thrilling nature and history lesson in an ideal pure off the beaten track setting. Nature at its best with very nice tour guide couple Ken and Josephine Haworth.

A wonderful place to relax and stay prior the jet boat trip to the Bridge to Nowhere and paddle back. Interesting and informative guide Thomas, welcoming family atmosphere at the old school. Perfect.

We had a wonderful experience with Whanganui River Adventures on our overnight trip. Well, it was supposed to be an overnight trip, but the 2nd day was forecast to be a washout, so Ken made sure we were able to get as much of the 2-day experience as possible in a single day. We were very grateful for the consideration and professionalism. What a beautiful and special place! We also very much appreciated the assistance and thoughtfulness when a member of our party had a car accident while leaving the facility. The entire staff could not have been kinder while we awaited a replacement rental car. I highly recommend WRA! You won’t be disappointed!
