Funky Duck Cafe
A passing stop from Hawke's Bay to New Plymouth. Plenty of ducks following you and especially around the cafe. Easy to find, typical cabinet food and great coffee. Sit outside in the sun under an umbrella and enjoy the view, and ducks at your side! Great place to check out on a journey.

Below average, ordered eggs bene came with egg shells and over done yolks, salmon tasted watery and hollandaise was flavorless, first and last time going here.

Our go-to family spot when we're in Whanganui, the coffee is always excellent, perfect after a long drive. Staff are always chipper and helpful, love seeing owners having an active hand in the day to day operation! Food is a bit hit and miss, but generally well presented and good options available. Interior is a bit dated, furniture could do with some maintenance(hard to find an outdoor chair that wasn't messed, for a location next to a lake it may be worth switching to plastic furniture). Overall would reccomend. ♡

Delicious smoothie. Chicken and mushroom pie ($8) was mostly pastry and air, about a tablespoon of filling. Tasty but disappointing

Open early morning so great to stop for early coffee fix on roadie. Great service, nice coffee but cheese scone was lacking the cheese.

Delish food, lovely staff, great atmosphere. Good coffee. Ducks all around that you can buy food for to feed. The salad is definitely a fave for me here!

Great location and good menu/cabinet options. The kitchen closes crazy early (1:30pm) and the staff always seem in a rush to close up - we had to step over a chain link to leave. Food is pricy for what it is. A solid 3 star cafe.
