Lottin Point Motel

There is absolutely nothing to fault.The drive down from SH35 is beautiful.The welcome was warm and friendly, the motel unit was clean and well appointed.We had our dinner at the motel and it was a wise choice - three of us had the seafood chowder and one had fillet steak - the meals were great. We also overheard one of the other guests gushing over their meal.We only saw two staff - the owner and her grandson - and they were perfect hosts.The beds, pillows and bedding were really comfy.The view, when the next door neighbour moved their car, was lovely. Unfortunately it was cloudy during our stay so we missed the sun rise.I really wished I booked to stay longer.

Popped in for dinner, amazing scallops! Only thing they can't beat is the view, world class and so peaceful. Would go back in a heartbeat. Photo below does not do the view justice.

Wowowowowowow is all I can say. Stunning rugged landscape, dont be a shy driver to get here though. One lane and rough roads some of the way. The beach is down a rocky gravel road.The service was 10/10. The best meal (lamb and steam veg; and steak salad chips) that ive had in a long time. Knowledgeable proprieter that went above and beyond. The rooms were so clean and warm. I didnt care that the rooms had no TV because there is a lovely little bar area indoors and music to listen to. WIFI still available if you really need it but honestly, switch off that phone and just listen to the waves and watch the stars. Nature's TV was way better.

Came here for a work trip and the service was amazing, the lady who runs it - didn’t catch her name is absolutely great. She goes above and beyond to cater for you and make you feel special. I would absolutely come here again just for the hospitality. An amazing location as well, would be 10/10 in summer. Highly recommend this place if you’re ever on the east coast.

Small motel tucked away with an elevated view of the ocean. Very chatty and helpful host. Very good meals in the dining room - the seafood was exceptional. Room was clean and well appointed with a small kitchen. Only negatives were the bed was not the most comfortable - queen size and very bouncy - and there were no comfortable seats inside or outside the room to relax and enjoy the view.

Our room was clean, pleasant and everything we hoped for.Extremely secluded, we had no data or phone coverage, which felt exclusive but the room had wifi so we didn't go without anything.The menu at the restaurant looked amazing, but we were ready for a quiet night it, so made use of our kitchenette.We headed down the beautiful lawn and sat in the comfortable chairs near the cliff, listening to the waves crash, watching shooting stars and counting endless satellites.Down the road was the most beautiful spot by the water where everyone obviously comes to fish and explore the water, wish we allowed another night or 2 to explore more.The perfect place to get away and unwind.Highly recommend!

We stayed one night at Lottin Point Motel while we were driving the Pacific Coast Highway. We arrived in the pouring rain and the atmosphere and the view was fantastic, despite the weather! Our unit (Traveller's Unit) was freshly painted and immaculately clean with a view of the ocean. It had a comfy bed and a kitchenette with a microwave and toaster, enough to prepare basic meals. We ordered dinner in the dining room and our meals were tasty and arrived beautifully presented. The owner-operator, Marija, works incredibly hard to provide good service in an isolated area. The price was right for such a beautiful location and we would happily return if we are passing through that way again.

What a great find on our trip around the East Coast. Lottin Point Motel is situated high on the cliffs, with views straight to the rocks and sea below brilliant plus surrounded by farm landThe room was very well appointed and comfy. Excellent Hosts, while all meals are available we had a very nice evening meal with good bar facilities.Value for money tops, very reasonable.Lottin Point Motel is a great place for both short and longer stop overs. So Peaceful.

Beautiful remote New Zealand location. Marija was gracious and generous with her time, especially about the history of the area. She went out of her way to show us a couple beautiful small bays. We even stumbled upon an interesting and unexpected macadamia nut grove. We came prepared for walking and were glad we had our waterproofs for one wet spring day. We were rewarded the next morning with a glorious bright sunrise.We appreciated the very comfortable bed each night after well prepared dinners.Yes, it is remote, but that is one of the main reasons we decided to visit the East Cape.Lottin Point met our expectations for a beautiful New Zealand experience.
