Fashion design school

My mum and I had the best week making boots at Shoe School. It was one of the most creatively fulfilling things I've ever experienced. Lou took us gently through the entire shoe-making process, pandering to our every need and insecurity, and creating a fun, supportive environment where we could bring our ideas to life. I learned so much, and have a whole new appreciation for every pair of shoes I see.Oh my gosh and the SHOES. I'm in love.

Recently completed my first beginners course in garment construction. It was so much fun and definitely learned a lot. When I first got there I had no idea what I was doing, but I learned a lot in such a small time, and at the end I could make my own garment which was such an achievement for me. I had such a great teacher, Sunita really takes time and patience to teach, even if she had to show you 10 times she did it with a smile. I am very grateful to be part of this, and will definitely continue my garment construction journey at NZ Academy of Fashion in 2023.

I recently completed the Beginners Patternmaking Course here and loved it! Such a well-structured course in a friendly environment (and a professional classroom/studio). I had Sunita as a teacher and she was the best, I literally knew nothing about patternmaking before I started this course and I feel like I've learnt so much and now feel comfortable enough to make my own basic patterns and garments at home.Being in a small class was wonderful as we could ask the teacher a lot of questions and you get to know your fellow classmates and learn from each other. Would totally recommend this course and I'm looking forward to taking more classes here in the future!

Nice morning out for me

I have been studying with Sewtec since August 2018. I really recommend studying here. its given me skills to change my life and I've learnt so much. I'm looking at starting my home sewing business and really excited!

Lou was so accommodating and flexible when I had to change workshop days due to a cancelled flight... The 1 Day sneaker workshop was FANTASTIC, I highly recommend taking the time out to hand make so shoes/boots. On day 1 of wearing mine 3 random people commented on how groovy my sneakers were :-)

My sister and I did the 1 day sneaker workshop with Lou which was great! Totally recommend this as something cool and different. Totally thrilled with my shoes.

It was so much fun. I went excited and a bit nervous. Lou was amazing. Nothing was too much bother. She gave us an awesome day. And my sneakers are epic.
