Alexis Motor Lodge & Motels, Dunedin

I booked our stay here through airbnb and had a very comfortable stay at this motor lodge. The host was very warm, friendly and responsive. She gave very clear directions on how to get to her lodge and even took the initiative to update us about the road closure outside her lodge. She was very understanding when we arrived later than expected too, and waited for us to check in. Truly appreciative of a lovely host!

Great location, easy off street parking and friendly service. We arrived late and the room was warm and all the instructions were left for us at the reception. Our two bedroom room was spacious and had everything we needed, spa bath was a welcome bonus too. We had to be close to the hospital and i walked there next morning (2min walk) same goes for all the shops and city center. Boys (dad and son) enjoyed their stay while i was at the hospital.

I have stayed at Alexis many times when visiting Dunedin. They are such welcoming hosts who make the reservation process very straightforward. The motel units are always very clean, warm and comfortable. Location cannot be beaten - an easy stroll to the university for meetings and into town for a meal. Will happily return again for the welcoming smiles and excellent service!!

Went down on a weekend for my teenager to look at some Colleges. This motel is up a slope but well appointed. It is a short walk to the Otago Museum. Stayed a Saturday night and was warned in a hilarious manner by a sign on the table of the possible noise pollution late in the evening or early morning. This partially came true as it was a Saturday evening.....but being prepared was the solution.The room itself is very well presented with everything working. The kitchen is very clean with plenty of utensils, cutlery and dining ware.The heating works well. The shower has excellent pressure. The bathroom has a fan heater as well. The beds are soft with electric blankets.Check in was a breeze. My only comment is that the parking spaces are smallish but I had no problems with a medium car.Check out the photos.It would be my place to stay the next time Dunedin beckons.

A good motel close to the city centre. The family rooms are large, especially for one person and it's clean. The bed was too soft for me, but that's a subjective view.Sadly, there was a group of teenage girls staying in the two rooms next door and they were noisy between 10-11 pm, running, jumping and yelling. The heating is reasonable, and the TV while smaller than other similar motels, did provide sky and Netflix services. The site is steep and may not suit physically challenged guests. Overall a reasonable stay. Thank you.

Great little motel right in the city. The one bed room unit was perfect for the two of us. We had privacy as there are two beds in the bedroom and one bed in the lounge. Rooms have has some renovations so are much better than other motels of the same price in the area. Staff super friendly and helpful. heaps of parking. Kitchen well equipped.

Been here a couple times now. Nice central location with a good price and a nice view. No problems with anything, nothing to complain about
