I couldn’t believe how good this backpackers was for the price! Free popcorn, cosy atmosphere, super friendly staff, a spa, comfortable beds, great views and even a Hummer Limo that takes you to the pub on a Friday night! Best backpackers I’ve ever been to!

Fabulous example of how to run a hostel. Thanks to Benjamin and family for building such a welcoming home-away-from-home! I only stayed one night but wish I'd have been around for longer.

Best hostel I have visited out of 5 all around New Zealand! Also stayed with a buddy that’s been travelling NZ for 10 months and seen over 20 hostels and this is by far the best hostel so far for both of us. Free hot tub, showers and sink in the room, free homemade vegetable soup for dinner and free breakfast. Common room has a separate tv room and kitchen is separated so everyone can have space when relaxing or eating. The owner Benjamin is the kindest dude with a heart of gold. I would travel an extra 2 hours just to stay here versus the surrounding hostels. The views just from the hostel are spectacular with amazing hikes everywhere you go. Also free limo pickup on Friday nights directly to a nice bar in town with a pool table and friendly locals and good food. If your staying near Franz Joseph this is the spot to be 100%

I am an experienced solo traveller who has stayed at many hostels throughout my travels over the world. I have to say, this is honestly the most loveliest, cosiest, most generous and clean hostel I have stayed at ever. Kirby is so lovely and the owner, Ben, is very kind, welcoming and dedicated to keeping the hostel looked after. The hostel has everything you could possibly ask for and more during your stay. A cozy TV room, PlayStation, board games, popcorn machine free to use, vegetable soup every evening and free breakfast 8-10am each morning. Really helpful staff and such great price. You will feel at home and looked after staying here. Highly recommend

Best Hostel ever. Firstly the facilities you get for the price is excellent. Comfy beds, lovely setting, big kitchen, jacuzzi, free breakfast, soup in the evenings and more. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying again if I get the chance and would recommend this to anyone staying in Franz Josef!

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in! Benjamin is an exceptional host. The most hospitable place (free breakfast, hottub and any help Benjamin can give). And don't forget about the Friday Hummer night. 10 out of 10. Or 5 out of 5 stars. Who cares. Just stay here.

Glow Worm Accommodation is THE place to go for backpackers! Its' owner, Benjamin, is one of kind and is so dedicated, enthusiastic and involved with each person who walks through the door. The space is perfect for people to mingle whether in the kitchen, adjoined lounge and tv room or even outside at the hot tub. When I realized I had accidentally left my makeup bag at the hostel, Benjamin was more than happy to help me out, acting on the situation swiftly. I got my bag back in no time thanks to him and his generous hospitality. Overall, a great place to stay, even for a night!

Simply just wow.Benjamin knows how to run a place. With free vegetable soup for supper and a free breakfast, he even threw us a couple of cold ones whilst in the spa.Thank you so much for our comfy beds and your hospitality, we will be back
