Grossi Point Reserve
Quiet place down aside road past parking for Mapua wharf. Ideal place to look around and have a chance to get away from the rush. If you like a walk only 8 minutes from Mapua.Tidal with boat launch and lots of notices about fishing at the tip of the point. It is an entrance into the estuary of Waimea.Toilets are little used but spotless. Well done Tasman Council worker or contractor.

Beautiful spot for a picnic if you need to be close to civilization but still want a quieter spot.

Beautiful place to launch your boat. Out of the wind and calm.

What a lovely quiet place to watch the tides ebbing and flowing. There's a lot of seabird action and at low tide you can hear the clicking of the crabs. There are views past Mapua Wharf to the open sea, across the Waimea Estuary with the hills and Richmond Ranges beyond. Wide vistas.

It's great.. Bring a picnic the kids will love it! There's a swing... There's a field to play around on... There's benches there's trees to climb and most importantly toilets. You'll have a great time.

This place is sooo beautiful. I would highly recommend taking a picture of the sun set after dinner at the wharf!

Very short window with tides to launch a boat. Easy to be caught out on being high and dry. Pot holes, old pine trees about to fall over. At least the TDC have plans to improve the area. Bring on the new Community Boat Ramp.

This is an amazing place, tonight there would have been 30 folk, kids and dogs, swimming, picnic dinners, just delightful.Thank you to the old identities like Alan Brown who planted the Pohutakawa trees, that are now huge. Dick Little and others who formed the boat ramp and created Grossi Point. They would be delighted seeing it still being used how they intended it to be used.Today it's a safe boat launching site, safe swimming on the high tides.

A tidal area which is good for kayaking. But the muddy bottom is yucky and I cut my foot open on a shell. The dog pooh everywhere is pretty gross. Nicer places to visit.
