My go to place for a bit of bling from time to time. Staff are really friendly.

I have been a shopper at Michael Hill ever since I came to NZ. My engagement ring, anniversary presents and gifts for family, all have been bought from Michael Hill Lambton and Lower Hutt. The experience has been excellent always except for the one today at the Manner’s Street store when I wanted to buy a small piece of silver jewelry for my friend. Not only the caucasian manager and his junior (herself a POC) were clueless about the item I had reserved to be viewed but they racially profiled me while I was asking for silver jewelry to be shown from the display case. At one point, the manager, who was agitated with me from the get go, said that he can let me see the tray of silver earrings only if his colleague holds onto it. I felt insulted, walked out without purchasing anything. I purchased a $1000 ring from MH a few weeks ago, thinking of returning it now. No one expects this treatment in 2022.

I’m not quite sure what happened but the window and outer display cases were untouched. The inside display case were about half smashed. The outside didn’t seem to have any holes so it must be from someone inside.

Beautiful jewellery shop with glass-bowl shop-front which effortlessly showcases their gems to passing pedestrians and potential prospects. And there's no shortage of these as it is located at the crossroads of a very busy intersection in the CBD. Open 7 days a week.
