These weekends and tours are organised to provide a fun learning environment with great photographers who have different but complementary styles. You'll have fun and learn a lot!

I was a photography novice when I went on a Picture This weekend to Milford Sound. I was a bit worried about being overwhelmed as I didn't even understand all my camera functions! But Rina and Neil made sure it was a fun, relaxing weekend with the emphasis being on learning by doing - with support as needed. I came away with some great photos and tips that I still refer back to.

I booked an awesome weekend in Golden Bay last year. We had perfect weather, great accommodation and some fabulous like minded ladies (no men were brave enough for this one!) whom I have built long lasting friendships with. Rina and Neil were brilliant hosts. The weekend was very relaxed with as much assistance as we wanted at any time. They made themselves available to talk about anything photography related. Neil assisted me a lot with his knowledge of my camera and settings/modes etc. Rina challenged me to look at the bigger picture and ways to try and fit in a massive scene into a single image. Her patience and sense of humour was just perfect in helping me relax and take some of my most favourite images to date. No matter what level of experience you have, you will find something to learn, with great company and lots of laughter. No matter what level you are at, there is something there for everyone. I would thoroughly recommend anyone at any level to go to a weekend, go with an open mind and be prepared to have your mind opened! I look forward to booking another weekend again in the future!

I attended a Picture This Photography Weekend based at Ohau Quarters after acquiring my first mirrorless camera and I’m so glad I did!From the moment we gathered together I absorbed a number of handy tips and a better way to manage my Lightroom set-up, before the weekend had even officially begun!The tutors set a laid-back but enthusiastic tone that suited me perfectly and I appreciated the super friendly atmosphere. They were good-humoured, patient and went out of their way to be helpful from start to finish and beyond.I quickly felt like I could ask any and all questions – even the ones I worried were a little basic – and Neil and Rina cheerfully helped me figure out my camera and how to get the best out of it at the beautiful spots we visited, including Aoraki Mount Cook, where I was thrilled we made the journey.We were taught to make the most of the changeable weather conditions and guided to the most incredible lookouts – places I hadn’t stood before despite visiting the area numerous times, which just brought home the value of being guided by those in the know.The tutors’ familiarity with the places we were taken and their experience hosting and guiding groups were as important to the weekend as their technical expertise and teaching ability, which were very high quality.I’m much more comfortable with my camera now – with what settings to use and what approach to take in different circumstances – and the Lightroom sessions were invaluable to me, helping me bring that work in the field together into images I’m proud of, particularly one of Mt Cook.One of my aims for the weekend was to ‘level up’ my photography and I definitely think I achieved that.I was pleased to be able to take the learnings away and apply them on my own in the aftermath, rather than being led to be dependent on the tutors. This is one of the many reasons I found the weekend incredibly good value.In summary, the weekend was the perfect blend of theory, practice and comradery, and I really hope to join Picture This again in the future!

We recently spent 10 days on the South Island of New Zealand with Neil as our guide, teacher and driver. He not only is a superb photographer but knows every inch of the South Island. He took us to many of his secret" places to photograph the marvelous scenery.We were with him from sunrise to sunset and were never idle. We often left the highways for dirt paths

Picture This is THE Team to join for a weekend of Lightroom Classic editing. Small groups, pleasant atmosphere, the latest updates addressed. Way to go !

I've just completed the 2 day Lightroom Classic Course. I highly recommend it for anyone needing to understand the complexity's of Lightroom. Rina and Neil make this so easy to understand and navigate you through the programme with ease.

I have been lucky enough to have attended 3 Picture This Photography weekends run by Rina and Neil (Golden Bay, Mackenzie Country and Fiordland), all of which were very different but so much fun! Being a bit of a novice on the first weekend, I was hugely relieved to find I wasn’t the only one who was relatively inexperienced in photography, there was a really good cross section of abilities - and I was also relieved that it wasn’t a full on technical workshop. Rina & Neil complement each other so well with their different styles of photography and tuition - the emphasis on the weekends is spending time with like minded photographers, learning new skills and tips but above all, having fun without feeling judged. I can honestly say that Rina and Neil have both been instrumental in my new found passion for photography and though them, I have grown in confidence in my photographic abilities. An added bonus is that I have formed great friendships with some of the other people I met on the weekends.
