Grant and his team are absolutely WONDERFUL. My friend actually recommended them to us. We had such a memorable experience that we will never forget!We would highly recommend Owhango Adventures to all of our friends and family and anyone who wants to do the Wanganui journey!The weather has been quite adverse when we first arrived, but Grant provided accommodation for us and carefully checked the weather every day and kept us updated. He provided flexibility in the schedule which we really needed.He also had safety in mind and gave us lots of options to adjust for our trip. He and Willy explained the trip and risks to us well. The river was high, but not dangerous, and it made it super fun. Willy dropped us off in the morning and ensured we had a good breakfast at the local pie shop.Pat was also wonderful, he came an hour early and picked us up, and took us to a great local cafe to get a good feed.10/10 would recommend Owhango Adventures with Grant and his team again and again!

Right from the word go Grant was friendly, engaging and amenable to our requests and change of plans. I took my brothers on a two day trip from Cherry grove, bought forward a couple of days due to forecast rain. Grant was flexible in choice of kayaks (singles) and trip timing which was appreciated. Safety briefing was as it should be... brief and appropriate to our experience! Gear was good! Time on the river was memorable and great to be greeted by a smiling Grant at Whakahoro with a cold drink! He displayed his wealth of local knowledge and experience with us and happily chatted with us all the way back to Base. we have been with other operators and were so pleased we chose Owhango Adventures. No dramas and would choose Grant and team anytime, and take advantage of the free accommodation offer at the Tavern too. Thanks once again, Nigel

Absolutely amazing experience!!! Highly recommend!! Grant is genuinely kind and easy to deal with. Our guide was enthusiastic and attentive to our needs as a family of 3 generations. The location and accommodation being provided is super convenient.But over all AUTHENTICITY is paramount to experience this spectacular canoe journey.And you will definitely get that, spending nights away from the crowd in exclusive campsites and being guided by locals.Thank you!!!

I was recommend to do our 3 day whanganui river canoe trail with this company by friends who had a great time doing there adventure with them.We stayed one night at this place. Grant was a great communicator. We inform him we would be arriving around 9pm and he let us know what we needed to do to get in etc and we meet him the next morning with free tea and coffee. The room did us fine and we had a good night sleep before we started our adventureWe did the self guided tour and had a great time. Some other people had a guided tour called Willy and we meet them along the the river and willy was very helpful. Full of knowledge.I would highly recommend doing your whanganui river tour with Owhango adventures. Thank you again Grant, willy and your team

Our group of 4 did the 3 day canoe trip (self guided) with Owhango Adventures and had an absolute blast. Grant was a legend - making sure we were well set up for a few days on the river, and was very accommodating with a couple of last minute issues on our end. Highly recommend!
