I originally was going to put a big rant here. But that is pointless, & I'm not a complete review psycho, so this is only a small one.What I can say is that I have spent tens of thousands on this brand & it's product over the past 5 - 10 odd years, and I am extremely disappointed with the huge costs upkeeping and replacing the CCTV gear is. This is probably not the 'best' CCTV hardware that you can get, it is very expensive & dies often.Unless you have, no wind, no rain, no dust, no moisture, no insects, no sun, basically nothing, then the cameras across the board will not stand the test of time. And if anyone out there has never had problems with them, then I take my hat off to you I have had far from the same experience. I've had some die within days, or a couple of weeks. The IR often is the first thing to go, or they black out. Some will just die from mother natures conditions, which is not what you are told will happen when being sold them. If you want to read number plates or other specific details of what's being recorded, you might as well grab a cup of tea and go sit in your target areas yourself, the quality of picture is not what you are being sold.While I am culprit for continuation of sourcing Hikivision CCTV hardware, you have to admit when you are talking tens of thousands of dollars you'd expect top line as advertised gear that you don't have to stress about every week because a camera is faulting.Don't even get me started on the DVR's and the rest of it all.I am sure I am a minority. But after replacing another lot after only a few months since the other replacements, I am sorry but I have to vent regarding. While you are not at fault for the installation & overwatch of systems installed, it is your product at the end of the day.Stupidly, I am still using Hikivision because when you have scores of cameras on the same system, you have too.I have 3'd because I cannot speak for the rest of their range which for all I know is good, only CCTV I have dealt with.
