We had a trip of a lifetime thanks to Michael Nees at Guest New Zealand! Michael arranged our month-long self drive through the North and South Islands. He listened closely to our requests, then designed the perfect itinerary to meet our needs including physical activities and unique adventures!!! He created a customized itinerary with an abundance of vetted activities, accommodations, and restaurant recommendations. Each excursion, tour and guide were all first rate. Each accommodation was unique and spectacular with hosts that greeted us and provided fantastic breakfasts and recommendations for additional hiking and sightseeing activities. Michael was available 24 /7. When a change in the itinerary was necessary due to the unpredictable fall weather, he was on it to help make alternative plans. We just returned from a three week trip to New Zealand and Australia. Michael put together an epic adventure for us that became the trip of a lifetime. Based on our conversations in planning the trip, he really understood our desires and limitations for this journey. He found the most unique hotels and tours for us every step of the way. And the guides he works with couldn't have been more knowledgeable and personable. He was always available for consultation both before and during the trip. But once we started the journey, there was little reason to contact him because the logistics were so well planned. We couldn't imagine a more perfectly planned and executed adventure!

We Just returned from a 22 day, trip of a lifetime. From our virtual meetings, Michael was able to arrange a self drive tour through New Zealand's North and South Islands, and an action packed tour of Australia. He listened closely and designed the perfect itinerary, filled with a mix of planned and self guided tours. The Boutique Accommodations, private and small group tours, and restaurant recommendations were all outstanding. Hotel transfers, flights, car rentals, and overall travel logistics were all carefully planned and incredibly well orchestrated. Accommodations were unique and spectacular with hosts that greeted us and provided fantastic breakfasts and recommendations for additional hiking and sightseeing activities. Michael simply did an amazing job of planning, coordinating and executing our travel plans. We had originally lined up a 2-week group tour of the South Island, but knew we wanted to see more of NZ while we were there. The tour company recommended that we work with Michael and what a great recommendation it was. We told Michael we wanted to spend another 2+ weeks seeing the best of NZ that we wouldn’t see on our scheduled trip, told him what our interests were, and he went to work. He then provided us with a menu of ideas to comment on to help him better understand our interests and what it would take to make the two weeks quite memorable.We knew Michael was in the background quietly watching over us while on our adventure, and it became very evident when our final days were supposed to be in the Coromandel region, right where the Cyclone Gabrielle was due to hit in a few days. Before even discussing it with us, he was setting up alternate lodging for us further inland in the event the forecast came true. When it was clear the path was correctly forecast, we talked at length about our options and decided to head back to the South Island to catch one remaining area of NZ that we should not miss. He worked his magic to get us the last seats out the next morning and adequate lodging (none of which was easy given everyone was trying to get out of the cyclone’s path). The end result was we had three wonderful sunny days while the majority of both islands was getting wind and rain. It was a perfect way to end a marvelous month in NZ.There is no question in our minds that if we ever head back to NZ or Australia, Michael will be the first one we connect with to do the planning for us. Since we have been back home, we have told many others about what a wonderful trip Michael put together for us.Thank you, Michael, for a job so very well done.
