Outstanding restaurant near the waterfront . The food was superb , in fact so good we went two nights in a row. The Michelin star chef from NY has created some divine dishes to tempt the pallet.The bar person has created some one off cocktails . If you like sweet try ‘ Not your average Pav ‘. Or gin-gernut.The little prawn tartlets were stupendous I could have eaten them all night . Fish amazing and pork to die for . If you want something different for dessert try the Specaloos cake . It’s divine .Each dish has bursts of flavour and textures to tempt the tastebuds .The staff were excellent and attentive and Jay should get an award for friendliest ever in a restaurant .We’re ready for a third visit to try more when next in Auckland . .

I really enjoy this restaurant. Quantities are just right, food cooked to perfection. Prices are a bit above my taste, but it's worth a treat. Wait staff are attentive and knowledgeable (and more importantly in expensive restaurants, approachable!)

Tend to go here for the great dessert menu. I've yet to try the mains (except the cheeseburger which I've had and didn't have dessert on this night but the rest of my table did) so looking forward to seeing what is on offer on my next visit. Their menu changes regularly but hope to see my favourite dessert back on the menu at some point!

Had a late dinner here and it was great. Recipes don’t use excessive ingredients in dishes, and are executed very well. Little garnishes on dishes enhance them and aren’t placed on just for garnish sake. Food tasted great, and the service was excellent, particularly from Summer. Would absolutely go back if we lived locally.

Best meal and service we have had in years. The dishes really thoughtfully put together and delicious. The wine was really well matched and everything service and timing wise was excellent. Really great, highly recommend.

My son and I had a bite to eat at Gochu, before having lunch here.We decided that we would have a couple of plates to share, which was a good decision.The service was excellent with one particular waitress.We decided on a plate of pork belly and another plate of seafood risotto.The risotto dish needed a bit more of a spark up with the flavouring, as it was missing on the taste side.The pork belly was well executed, with two reasonable sized portions, and the seasoning was perfect for my taste, not too much salt which was certainly appreciated .Well worth the visit.Price wise, this restaurant will not break the bank.I would certainly return.

Me and my GF had an impromptu lunch date, the place look so inviting with winter sun going through the window.We had an amazing salad and tasty croquettes and the selection on wines pretty good too.We were served by a great staff! Definitely won’t be my last.

We visit The Lodge for lunch on our special occasions as it is expensive, but you pay for what you get :) Last time my wife pointed out a food order ticket that had fallen to the floor from above the kitchen window and the waitress replied, “I’m sure one of our staff would have seen that.” She said it in a way that sounded like a telling off! My wife was only trying to help and was very offended by this response. The waitress from New York, on the other hand, is always friendly and cheerful, an absolute pleasure. This visit, the stern waitress wasn’t waiting our table but did give us a smile so we felt better after this visit. The food and cocktails are to die for! Delicious and worth going back for.

Ordered the Specials - deconstructed basil and tomato bagel and Zuchinni Crayfish on a bisque. Also ordered Aubergine pasta, Steamed snapper and Fish and Chips. Food was so fresh and delicious! So so good as were the seedlip cocktails. Thank for such a great lunch!
